ExpandI think Adlington is waiting on Nekoda Smyth Davis' continental place - since Nekoda is both injured AND pregnant. I think Sarah's chances are pretty solid, but it would be nice to confirm it.
As Croatia was confirmed by our judo federation I think Adlington is safe as she is better ranked than Maranic.
Expected reallocation
Woman 70kg: Canada returning Direct quota, that should go to Tunisia i think
European CQ: Great Britain and Belgium returning female quota, that goes again to Great Britain and Croatia
i hope I am right ?, but who knows ??♂️
ExpandWhat happens if a country declines a WR quota and the next eligible athlete has a continental quota?
I think it goes to the next best without CQ
if they start to change from CQ to direct Quota that would end up in chaos, as it would change all CQ and people before confirmed could drop out
But I am not 100% sure
ExpandDid they take any reallocation into account at all?
I don’t think so
Zupancic is still listed in 70kg, she is pregnant and retired
also European CQ for Willems Belgium and the British judoka, both are injured and will almost 100% miss Tokyo
They seriously needed almost two weeks for this?
I was expecting they are waiting because of reallocation but I still see few athletes in the list who will not be in Tokyo
ExpandI tried to calculate the European quotas. There are many ways I could have messed this up, so don't think that this is an official confirmation.
w70 - 2915 - #1 female European quota
m90 - 2875 - #1 male European quota
w70 - 2842 - #2 female European quota
m90 - 2837 - #2 male European quota
w57 - 2778 - #3 female European quota
m73 - 2694 - #3 male European quota
m90 - 2518 - #4 male European quota
m90 - 2495 - #5 male European quota
m81 - 2417 - #6 male European quota
m73 - 2339 - #7 male European quota
w57 - 2337 - #4 female European quota
w78+ - 2326 - #5 female European quota
m100 - 2247 - #8 male European quota
m100 - 2244 - #9 male European quota
m100 - 2190 - #10 male European quota
m60 - 2157 - #11 male European quota
m73 - 2148 - #12 male European quota
m90 - 2103 - #13 male European quota
At this point we have reached the limit for male European quotas (13).
w57 - 1985 - #6 female European quota
w63 - 1872 - #7 female European quota
w78+ - 1825 - #8 female European quota
w52 - 1786 - #9 female European quota
w48 - 1753 - #10 female European quota
w63 - 1712 - #11 female European quota
w63 - 1688 - #12 female European quota
I think you are right with female quotas. Only GBR quota will go to +78kg as the other lady is injured. Croatia first below line ??
i think there will be reallocation due to Oceania, probably to Italy
They have published the new world ranking, but not Olympic ranking, which is actually identical , but you would have to do quota calculations on your own or wait until Wednesday 18 CET ?
ExpandI had to double check what's going on: I think Aleksandar Kukolj now has qualified in two events, he has a world quota in men's 100kg and a continental quota in men's 90kg.
He can’t have two quotas , beside that Serbia has Majdov in 90kg already qualified
ExpandThey won't take the quota but this should give Canada a quota in the team event, and they can compete even if they lose this quota. This spot will be given to the next ranked athlete in the WR.
But the question is when the reallocation will happen, before allocation of CQ or afterwards. That could be a big difference.
If they do it immediately Belgium gets it and frees one spot for Europe iro CQ.
Gold for Croatia, did not expect that
ExpandThanks for the reply. I thought so.
I didnt expect anything from her and this medal just added some confusion.
Do you know when will IJF decide about those CQ?
It should be clear next Monday after the WCH, of course there will be some quota declined, reallocation start and that can change few things again I guess.
ExpandCould you calculate chances of Anja Obradovic? She won 1000 pts, so she should be inside CQ. I know its still early to forsee but any insight would be appreciated.
Impossible to calculate or to predict.
it depends on so many results across all weights.
and additionally she has to be best in Serbia. Dosen if he wins one match is in much better position, but again depends on so many things.

that's a terrible news for Iran, now they can't look at the list and see where is Israel to "not participate" that was their policy since Paris Grand Slam.
(for example Iran only sent one competitor to Croatia last week because Israel had nobody in that specific weight) so I guess from now we will only see Iranian judokas at the World Championships
Now i understand why they hide the entry lists
What happened to the entry list at judobase.org and ijf? Not there anymore?
ExpandSo, qualification system says that South African quota will (if refused) go to DR Congo (next best from Africa).
Unused men's quota from Oceania will go to the highest ranked unqualified nation in men's event, and that should be Uzbekistan in -100kg.
Is there any Oceania quota and why AUS and NZL are not using it? Is that known?
So if i understand correctly Croatias Kumric (men 100) is second in the reserve list and Miskovic (w 63) is first in the reserve list? But only when it comes to direct qualification replacing, which probably will not happen.
When it comes to replacing of continetal quota and invitation places (which is more probable) both are in 5th place on reserve list.
Edited by prso1000how does the reallocation process works in case invitations are refused?
