ExpandIf this is true, this is really frustrating, you'd think they would at least be able to send a team of development athletes, or even the ones that they don't think are good enough for the olympics despite having qualified.
I don’t they there is any money to spend on development athletes or taking those not worthy of the Olympics.
No team at Rome apparently according to my source.
BBC article about Cindy Ngamba.
Even if no medals are won surely it can’t be worse than Atlanta with two boxers who both lost their first fights.
ExpandGiven the incompetence of Home Office I doubt she'll be getting her passport through before Olympics.

In fact I could see the Home Office being slow on purpose to avoid being accused of rushing it through.
ExpandI think we are probably heading for the smallest GB boxing team since Beijing. For the last 3 games, GB have had at least 10 boxers qualify - at the moment I can't see us getting into double figures for Paris. In Beijing, we had 7 and we might even struggle to match that this time. Having said that, probably worth bearing in mind that the number of places available in boxing has dropped for Paris - there's about 40-50 fewer quotas available.
Perhaps more worrying is the lack of an obvious medal favourite in the squad - if they don't come back with any medals from Paris then GB Boxing will likely see their funding cut significantly.
Probably removed entirely. Even the successful sports are preparing for cuts particularly if the narrative of the entire games is a big decrease in medals.
There needs to be golds in the primetime sports of swimming and Athletics and I’m not sure either will produce a gold.
Edited by Orangehair43I do wonder if she will she retire unless she is aiming for LA. British cycling have never cared that much about anything but the Olympics.
One if the poorest performances from Laura Muir I’ve seen for a while.
The BBC clearly not happy with the size of the team this morning.
I do wonder if we going to start losing athletes who have dual nationality to other countries because of some of the selection policies in some of the sports.

Well I’ve been told by someone who knows someone who could make that criteria but most likely not Paris that they have been told they might not be much of a team as finances are bad bad bad.
