  1. Here the schedule of Day 6, Last day of the Preliminary Round stage 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship In Buffalo, , 26 December 2017 to 5 January 2018 Sunday December 31st, 2017 - Preliminary Round Last Day Schedule (GMT -5) Group A 16:00 United States vs Finland (in Key Bank Center) 18:00 Slovakia vs Denmark (in Harborcenter) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rest Day: Canada *Canada is already the Group winner, Finland and the US still fight for 2nd place, Slovakia can finish at best 3rd. **USA vs FIN the winner of this match (doesn´t matter if in regulation time or after OT/GWS) will finish 2nd in the group. Finland can not finish worse than 3rd. even if they lose this match. USA can still finish 2nd, 3rd but also 4th if they lose to Finland and Slovakia win against Denmark. ***SVK vs DEN crucial match for both teams to avoid the relegation round, Slovakia need one single point from this match to assure the qualification for the play-offs and send the Danes to the relegation battles, Denmark can still finish 4th and advance to the quarterfinals but only by winning in regular time, in this case it would be Slovakia who will have to play the relegation round. Group B 12:00 Switzerland vs Czech Republic (in Key Bank Center) 20:00 Russia vs Sweden (in Key Bank Center) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rest Day: Belarus *No relegation troubles for the 4 teams playing today, since Belarus is assured to finish last in this group and will have to play the relegation series against the 5th team of Group A. **Russia s Sweden match for the first place. If Sweden manage to grab at least one point they will top the group. Russia need to win against Sweden by at least 2 goals margin (if the Czechs beat SUI in regular Time) to top the group, otherwise any win in regulation time will be enough for Russia to take the first place. ***SUI vs CZE, The Czechs can finish 2nd if they win and Russia will not do the same against Sweden, Switzerland can finish 3rd in case of a at least 3 goals margin win against CZE or by any regular time win if Russia will gain point(s) in the match with Sweden.

  7. Miracles do not happen every day Congrats Finland for the deserved win, but what weird and silly mistakes we did today is not normal, the 4th Finland´s goal ! I have no words, a "own goal" directly from winning face off, is something we really don´t see so often also the 5th goal was pretty embarassing...pity with some better luck a point from this match was not so impossible to earn, but you just can not succeed against such powerhouse as the Suomis are with producing so many idiotic faults..but well, once again, we are still speaking about 18-19 years kids all in all, we are back to our original and only goal of this tournament, tomorrows must win game against Denmark.
