  1. That can be arranged. As I told my family-in-law in Brazil last week: Brazil - Serbia 0-2 Brazil - Switzerland 0-3 Brazil - Cameroon 0-1
  2. Oh don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with the general point about this (at all), but he could have mentioned almost literally any other time period than '3000 years', simply because 3000 years ago Europe was way way way behind large parts of the world (specifically the Middle East where by that time entire civilizations had already come and gone) in terms of things like having cities and 'nations' and all the consequences that come with it
  3. Oh yes, the famous European colonization of the world in the year 1000 BC. You know, when there was barely any form of civilization in all of Europe and all significant bits of slavery and warfare were done in the present-day Middle East (and to a lesser extent Africa and Asia)
  4. Oh well, people who are seriously betting on overly suspicious matches are asking for it, to be fair People who place bets on World Cup matches hours before the match (especially the regular 1X2 bets) are also asking to lose money overall, but everyone can make their choices
  5. And silver for Joep Wennemars, bronze for Isabel Grevelt....what a surprising day Also kind of weird to hear a Wennemars being interviewed without a major stutter
  6. For many years, people thought Blatter was the face of corruption and 'evil within football'. Infantino: "Hold my beer." No, this alcohol thing will absolutely not help FIFA understanding what a huge mistake this is. Perhaps financially, but that's about it, and I doubt that as well.
  7. And surprise, the bought fans (who have their stuff paid so they will post enthusiastic things and share and like third-party posts on social media) have their allowances cut https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/nov/18/fans-paid-to-attend-world-cup-by-qatar-have-daily-allowance-cancelled
  8. Is that hoax still making the rounds on internet nowadays?
  9. Huh, I had not counted on non-FIS races
  10. And also not happening this weekend There's Sweden, Norway and rollerskiing near Santiago this week
  11. The problem is bigger if Qatar actually does end up winning 1-0 with a second half goal To be fair, it is 0% unexpected or shocking if this would be true, on both sides.
  12. Not so much a fact and neither a piece of propaganda, as a piece of an extrapolated statistical best estimate.
  13. Thanks for the explanation! It does kind of feel like the Indians in Qatar are either unaware or are paid by Qatar to be lying about "The World Cup is insanely popular at the moment", they make it sound like all over the country there is an insane hype right now and every participating country has thousands of hardcore Indian fans cheering for them, so it'd be 'perfectly normal' to see those videos we've seen from Qatar the past days
  14. About the international fans in Qatar, a lot of whom apparently are from India and supporting whichever random-looking country: "People just don't realize how insanely popular the World Cup is in our home country. We watch the Premier League every weekend. Nobody paid us to do this." To our Indian friends, is the World Cup (and this one specifically, which seems so 'dead' in most countries) really that insanely huge in India at this very moment? @Prakash @Prashanth @Fly_like_a_don @nitinsanker (and I am definitely forgetting some others, for which I apologize, it's early )
  15. Today I learned Italy isn't in the World Cup Well damn.
  16. And I had missed the first part, so thanks
  17. Huh? He has been doing that for 3-4 seasons now, with quite some decent results in it...you know, like two consecutive seasons of finishing in the top-10 in the overall World Cup (9th and 5th three and two seasons ago) Or I am missing the joke of course
  18. That's a lot of new names, cool Also: Brazil should return in having a presence again this season, in trimester 2 (so after the New Year until the OECH mainly).
  19. Showing weakness would actually be sending a massive bunch of troops now. One might assume this will mean a decent step up in equipment and such being sent though.
  20. Footballer Fahad Al-Muwallad has been taken out of the Saudi team for the World Cup 'as a precaution' due to a doping violation. Footballer Mario Vuskovic of Hamburger SV has tested positive for EPO, and with that also failed the "Is your IQ a positive number?" test. Two hits in a sport with relatively speaking as good as no testing. Not bad.
  21. Damn, time for everyone to move to Denmark it seems? That salary seems insane, and reading about a 50% income tax doesn't make the salary any less insane. I guess products in the supermarket are significantly more expensive than in other countries as well?
  22. There's also a ton of videos of all kinds of Qataris LARPing and pretending to be English, Argentinian, German fans etc to make it seem like there's massive interest
  23. This says when youth athletes are entitled to start, but in general it seems you are right and Brazil probably (surprise surprise) misread the rules last season, suggesting the OECH was not on the same level as the IBU Cup anymore in terms of qualifying. Seems like it still is though, meaning you're eligible to compete if you're eligible to compete in the IBU Cup in the same trimester, which means you've scored under 250 IBU points in the previous trimester or - if you haven't - you did not compete at all in the previous two trimesters, so you start with a clean slate.
  24. I get some cheese snack vibes, but yeah, I entirely agree with your point
