  1. Very important day today... Gagan Narang, Gurpreet Singh and Chain in action today..also Mairaj - we need medals today.....or we'd return home without a shooting medal Atanu's big challenge... Tennis Mixed doubles quarters.....need to win this one....
  2. Chalo...everyone buck up.... We've seen bad days.,....Cant go worse.... Can only get better
  3. finally, some good news....what a bad day we're having
  4. yes we had bad results.....dont lose hope coming week would end all miseries
  5. Everybody's upset here, the least we can expect is some maturity.. Is the hyperbole of negativity so necessary??????? Ur practically questioning everything.. Yes we are'nt perfect....yes we are'nt reaching the levels we hoped... Can years of mismanagement, systemic flaws, lack of opportunities be corrected over a fortnight???? do the right things for ten-20years, then the results will come... we're in the middle of a process right now.... and any process has its minor ups and downs and for ur comments on public reaction, These athletes are well aware of it....success brings adulation, loss brings criticisms..... LEt them do what they do best... As for us, let's do our bit... support them unconditionally, come what may
  6. Ur not in India right...thank God..that's one less
  7. Do u realise this is sports....Not a perfect script....Abhinav's a champion right.....he won his gold only in his 3rd olympics U'll complain rant and whine for a day and then forget it....These athletes would carry this pain through for 4 years like an albatross round the neck... and u question their commitment???? emotions are natural but please show some maturity.... If its so bad, please go back to where you were....We already have enough whining and ranting.... If its condescension ur after, sorry to sound rude, this is'nt a place for that
  8. This is sports we're watching...and we have to accept defeat graciously... both the matches our archers tried hard.....they lost which is sad... but they lost to the better player on that day....
  9. Seems like every1 is on god mode against us.... How do we find a way to enable the console and use our own god mode Even trainers would do
  10. Which is why Rio is so important for us...we've had so many positives...our athletes have always done their bit with the limited resources that they have.... Now slowly were moving to a position where others are looking to come in, support and contribute... the media has given this contingent its best build-up and coverage yet - though a lot more needs to be done.... Athletes have received funds for training... Lots of positives to taker forward.....Benefits would only come 4 to 5 years down the line..... PPl need to understand that this is sports.....its quite fragile.... You need to do the right thing, take the right steps for years to get satisfactory results.... whereas one small, rash mistake could undo everything
  11. Ur looking at the top....But improvement comes from the bottom....The big changes in India's olympic fortunes wont change till the next generation of athletes come up... We need our top former athletes and sportspersons to go right at the grassroot level or atleast in the junior levels. changes would only be visible after 8-10 years
  12. the role of the officials is management.... Not every sportsperson is capable of managing affairs... Ex-olympians and sportspersons should be encouraged to taker up coaching instead..... so many academies lack quality training and guidance.....
  13. That...right there...that's the kind of knee-jerk over the top reactions that needs to end.... Yes, results are bad...yes lots of changes need to happen... All the changes need to be well-plan and implemented over time. officials and administrators manage things.......dont go and perform themselves.... we have our biggest contingent ever, something is definitely right...... Making sweeping changes would undo whatever has been done over the last 5-10 years
  14. But ur larger point is absolutely correct...Most nations that win several medals in shooting win world championships medals consistently.... Whereas in our case, one shooter wins a medal....without much consistency... I guess this disappointment was bound to happen at some stage..... Unless we start picking other world event medals consistently, the dream of picking up multiple medals in olympics would remain a distant dream....
  15. Now what...double digit hopes are gone....wats a more realistic tally for us now?
  16. If u say Vijay's medal was lucky ur mistaken....unexpected but not lucky He fought...he won fair and square....Where's the luck there??? Saina's medal was lucky.....
  17. Double digit medal hopes dashed.... Really, wat was supposed to be the most successful games for us is becoming a bit of a reality check.. Even the 6 medals won in London seems too far off now....
  18. Poor last round..jitu out Nightmare..absolute nightmare... One of the brightest medal hopes is over Looking very bad in shooting now...
  19. Jitu in 10 position Nanjappa last..horrible firat round by him
  20. Lets pray for Jitu to show some class today
  21. It was just round the corner....something was brewing for months Sania had hinted the same back in March 2016
  22. I feel going forward that we need to push our bench strength even more...Be it shooting, archery or other sports.....bring in the juniors or 2-3 athletes who can reach that position in a yr or two if they are given the opportunities.... atleast give them a chance to either fail or to improve......tough competition at the domestic level helps improve the quality of performance.....
  23. yeah...hoping against hope here.. hope this miracle happens
  24. Archery team tried...conditions and luck affected them really bad......Bindra tried his heart out..unlucky..hats off to that kind of commitment. But chanu's performance was really puzzling.... Competition was low....other lifters kept failing their attempts... All she had to do was lift that 106 in the clean and jerk.....not 1 lift...it was also her opening eight which means she's lifted it several times b4
