India 4X400 Men's and women's team are participating today confirmed(Men's I and II also Women's I and II), but they seem to be performing in a separate race in Poland. All your point about strict policies, what if Pooja won 2 golds out of the the 3 WC events in 2016, instead of finishing 4th, I'm sure she would have been sent, since it would have been highly flashed in the media, Ayonika has not qualified for any WC finals since 2015 till date, that's my only worry, we have to evaluate our medal chances.

Today. So Vivek out of the 3 in athletics,which I predicted last week we have Dutee, Siddhanth and OP are the next 2. Now I'm also expecting 2 in 400m and 1 triple jumper.

By that logic, Sanjeev Rajput should also have participated, didn't China choose Li Xuerui over Wang Shixian in London and what was the result. You need to pick players on current form, a number of NOC's are yet to announce their Shooting squad for Rio, they want to wait till this current world cup event.

Kapil, just a simple question, if Pooja won 2 golds in the 2 finals she qualified this year, her ranking currently I guess is 11, say would have been No.1 with 2 golds, would you have said the same thing and would NRAI still sent Ayonika, I doubt, just b coz she finished 4th the matter has not come into limelight. Ayonika did nothing apart from qualifying in Asian event in the last 1.5 years unlike Apurvi who had a gr8 2015. How do you explain China selecting Li Xuerui over Wang Shixian in London?

That is exactly what I feel is incorrect. What if Pooja won 2 golds in the 2 finals instead of finishing 4th, still NRAI would have sent Ayonika who did not even look close to qualifying in finals in World Cup events both in 2015 and 2016. We are not China or US, we somehow manage to earn a very few medals. NRAI have to be realistic and give an athlete in form some chance. We saw the result of being adamant in archery.

There is the National Interstate event next week, I guess most will participate in it, not a bad choice, we could not achieve much in Europe. With heats, semi-finals and finals you get multiple chances in such events, unlike Europe where you just have 1 race in 1 event.

Nitin are you sure, this is not about exchanging quota, unlike the entry of Manavjit Sandhu, here we have 2 quota we can send any shooter having an MQS, that's what I understood from the Qualification Rules. Anyway thanks, can you re-check once pls.

No Rohan, that's a separate thing, we exchanged Sanjeev's quota(3 pos) with Trap event and it had been passed. Here we have 2 quota in 10m air rifle, it's abt choosing the right athlete which our Federation has the complete right.

The Shooting squad was announced in March, while some nations are yet to announce their squads, is there a possibility to get Pooja Ghatkar in the squad replacing maybe Ayonika? Guys let me know if you have any information. Very sad if Pooja doesn't go, a genuine in form medal prospect.

3 World Cups in 2016, Pooja qualified in the finals in 2 of them and finished 4th in both, and finished 11th in the other one. While Ayonika and Apurvi were not even close to reaching the finals in any of the 3 World cup events this year, are we going to be stubborn like the archery team and not send Pooja in Rio? Come on guys, pick players in form.

Pooja Ghatkar, keeps doing well and gets into the finals of Women 10m Air Rifle. She entered another final and was close in another one in this year's World Cup while Ayonika and Apurvi have not done anything this year. Will our federation ignore her and send the out of form Ayonika. Apurvi still did well last year, currently suffering from bad form.
