  1. If they're not likely to reach the final then they don't wanna know, simple as. Although tbf to them, unlike athletics, this hasn't hindered the progress or success of our athletes at all so they've got no reason to stop doing this. Edinburgh will be a good guide, in all unqualified events, as to how trials will most likely unfold. Blocksidge needs to knock 9 seconds off her current time and Evans 0.3 to reach the British Standard, and that's without even considering the 30 athlete cap they might have to contend with.
  2. She may have achieved the OQT but she's still has to knock 3 tenths off to achieve the British Swimming standard. But if she continues in the same vein as she did at BUCS, where she knocked 6 tenths off her PB, she should have no problem achieving it.
  3. Brilliant from Sky Brown to get to the third round. Stanley Norman gets there as expected and Arran Strong pulls off a shock as he pips Tudela to reach the third round. Barton was unlucky in her heat, hopefully she can have a run in the repechage with easier competiton. Sandland and Luke Dillon making it through would round off the day.
  4. Maraton BP Castellon February 25, 2024 Men's: Kibrom Weldemichael Women's: No qualifiers
  5. How many events are left till the 4th June, I know there's 2 world cups and a world championships but I'm unsure on whether the European Cups count towards the rankings.
  6. If the neutral athletes weren't a factor, he'd only have to beat Gouzou to get the quota.
  7. Does Hunt's U23 results count towards the rankings as well? If so we should be ahead of Colombia in the Women's for two spots.
  8. Big results from Kai and Ross this weekend should put us back above both Holland and America. Despite Shriver's poor results, I'd like to think we're only 100 points off Colombia for the second spot - with Hunt U23's results also potentially counting towards the total.
  9. Osaka Marathon February 25, 2024 Men's: Stephen Kissa Jemal Husen Kipkemoi Kiprono Xiangdong Wu Tebello Ramakongoana Women's: Waganesh Nekasha, Beyenu Degefa, Helen Tola Bekele Lisa Weightman The following athletes also reached the qualifying standard but their NOC have already announced their participants for The Olympics: Men's: Kiyoto Hirabayashi, Napoli Koyama, Yuya Yoshida, Daisuke Doi, Tatsuya Maruyama, Mizuki Higashi, Shohei Otsuda Women's: Kaede Kawamura
  10. The second round heats have not turned out well for . Whilst Norman should be favourite to come through his heat, it's looking near impossible for Barton to come through hers with Vassi, Baum and Brooks. Furthermore, if all goes to plan Strong is set to have Florence in his heat along with the already confirmed Tudela. Brown should be OK if she comes through her first round heat, as should both Dillon and Sandland in the repechage.
  11. It's doable as the Surfing ends on the 31st and the Park starts on the 6th. Never seen her surf before, so it'll be interesting to see how good she is compared to everyone else.
  12. Arran Strong ending the day off well for , little disappointed with Dillon and Sandland but bar Dillon going to the repechage it was what I expected. Interesting to see how Sky does tomorrow, and hope Norman, Strong and Barton can make it safely into round 3.
  13. Not anymore. Stanley Norman outperformed him at last year's games and has been putting up way better scores than him. He's in his early 20s, so he's definitely got a good career ahead of him. If he doesn't qualify, this will be Dillon's last competition as he's taken up a performance coach position at British Surfing.
  14. Poor from Dillon who goes to repechage at the first time of asking. At least our 2 best surfers are still in the main draw.
  15. Good draw for men, all of who should make it past the first round. The story is quite different for the women though. Sandland is almost a certainty for the repechage after being put with Tzsuski and Roett, with both Brown and Barton being in a three way tussle for two spots with Wright and Machado and Maeda and Ojeda respectively. A least a 4th round for the women and a 5th round for the men should be enough to put us in contention for the quotas.
  16. Just go onto the world athletics calendar and edit the dates from now to the end of the qualification period.
  17. Appalling from , I know Pitchford was injured but Drinkhall should've won his game from 2-0 up and Jarvis should've done better in his too. Given the position we were in coming into this, missing out on the quota is a major disappointment and sums up GB table tennis down to a T - the best we can hope/aim for now is 3-4 quotas from the singles qualifiers.
  18. Yes is it, but from what was said on commentary for the Seville Marathon those who already have the time beforehand are safe. This only applies to the men though as more than 3 women have got the qualification time.
  19. We could actually do with beating as it would mean we've at least matched their result, crucially keeping us ahead of them in the rankings. Missing out on this would be awful for the boys considering we've been in the top 18 for the entirety of the qualification period.
  20. What do you mean in what world? We're higher ranked than them by six places and we have the twenty fifth best player in the world, this is just like us playing someone like America - we've got a very good chance.
  21. Tough draw for us, won't beat China but beating Romania is a must if we want to earn a world ranking place.
  22. So do I, the Dutch can't go through after knocking us out the way they did.
  23. I just put them in whether they've already qualified or not, it's not like you're posting false information if they've hit the qualification standard again.
