Doha, Qatar is not going to get an Olympic Games in that oven-like heat in July/August where it is often 40 degrees celcius at 2am. The IOC and the International sporting federations will not allow it. NBC will also not allow an Olympic Games to be held outside the July/August timeslot. -

Credit: All eyes on Brisbane, but NRL grand final still just a dress rehearsal - 2Oct21 - Brisbane Times Brisbane Organising Committee for the Olympic Games: this month Premier Anasatcia Ms Palaszczuk will introduce legislation in State Parliament to set up BOCOG. In just over decade from now, Brisbane will host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games “Not since Barcelona in 1992 has an Olympic host been better able to capitalise on hosting a Games,” Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk reminded everyone in her State of the State address on Thursday. The multibillion-dollar City Deal between all levels of government needs to be sorted out. All projects supporting the Games need to be identified, chosen, designed, approved, re-examined, tendered, built and tested. Decisions on the Gabba upgrade need to made, along with the fast rail proposal after a lukewarm reception so far. Brisbane City Council: Its Brisbane Metro megabus project might link to Brisbane Airport with its new international terminal by the time the Olympics roll around. The Queensland government’s underground Cross River Rail project will better link the coasts and provide improved links to Brisbane sports and entertainment venues, although how much remains a matter of contention. Transport Minister Mark Bailey said, in the first instance, it would make catching buses and trains to Olympic venues easier “Commuters catching the train will be able to get from the CBD to the main Olympics stadium at the Gabba in less than five minutes, or get out of the Roma Street underground and head to the Brisbane Olympics venue that will be built in that precinct for the Games,” Mr Bailey said. -

Why do you think that Doha 2032 never progressed past the Dialogue stage? It is a safety issue for the athletes. It is a bloody oven in Doha, and the IOC will not countenance athletes, officials and spectators dropping like flies with heat stress. You cannot hold the many outdoor Olympic events like the Marathon, Triathlon, Road Cycling, etc in a Doha in an air conditioned stadium. The IOC won’t allow it even if the July/August rules were changed. The IOC’s New Norm reforms has generated a huge wave in interest for hosting in 2036 following Brisbane’s recent election. As a result, the IOC are now triumphant with these 118 New Norm reforms introduced in 2018. To be clear, the list below is of media reports of early interest in 2036 hosting. I’m not talking if there is, or not has been or not, any dialogue with the IOC, nor am I talking about the actual chances of each of getting the Games …..these are purely media reports of interest shown by these in possibly hosting in 2036. As we know, early interest is just that … and often nothing more. But it is a bloody long list. 2036 Interested Parties Media Reports Ahmedabad 14 Jul-21: Olympic Bid: Two agencies in fray to create roadmap for Ahmedabad – Times of India 2036 Olympics in Ahmedabad - 24Aug21 - Times of India Berlin, Tel Aviv 16 Apr-21: German officials expresses support for a Tel Aviv-Berlin Olympics in 2036 Budapest 3 Sep-21: “Budapest 2032 Committee" officially renamed as Hungarian capital continues pursuit to host Olympic Games Nanjing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dalian, Xi'an, Chengdu, Jinan, Xiamen, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Suzhou 12 bidding cities for the 2036 Olympic Games - 2Oct21 - MINNEWS Odessa Odessa bid for 2036 Olympic Games possible, Ukrainian politician Kolesnikov moots - 30Sep21 - Inside The Games Florence, Bologna, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna 21 Jul-21: Florence, Bologna, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, Italy 2036 Olympics, Giani and Nardella: “Bringing the Summer Games to Italy shouldn’t remain a dream” - 25Jul21 - ConradAtkinson Guadalajara Guadalajara, Mexico City, Tijuana, Monterrey, Mexico Tijuana-San Diego Olympic Project resurfaces by 2036 - 12Jul21 - Around The Rings Jakarta 23 Jul-21: Indonesia to bid for 2036 Olympics after 2032 failure After Tokyo 2020, Jakarta aims to secure ASEAN’s first Olympics - 12 Aug21 - Asean Economist Rostov-On-Don, Vladivostok, Perm, Novosibirsk, Sochi, Ufa At least six regions in Russia are interested in hosting 2036 Olympic Games - 27Sep2021 - Gamesbids.com Istanbul 14 Jul-21: Istanbul Mayor launches bid for 2036 Olympic Games We are Assertive in bringing 2036 Games to Istanbul - 30Aug21 - Railly News London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester 4 May-21: Khan targets 2036 or 2040 Olympic and Paralympic bid if re-elected London Mayor Olympic hosting ground looms after Tokyo - 24Sep2021 - Bolly Inside Madrid Madrid Mayor denies Spanish capital has joined 2036 Olympic bid race, but door is open - 23 Sep21 - Gamesbids.com Madrid Enters 2036 Race, or Not? - 24Sep21 - SwimSwam Montreal, Toronto 3 Feb-21: Montreal and Toronto, Canada’s new Olympic bet Olympic hosting ground looms after Tokyo - 24Sep2021 - Bolly Inside Rhine Rhur 12 Jul-21: German Olympic Bid Embraces Flexibility South Korea, North Korea 4 Sep-21: Koreas Push 2032 Olympics for IOC Consideration Sorry, I got off topic. It’s the unsafe extremely hot weather conditions that will stop a July/Augustbid from Qatar dead in it’s tracks. July/August temperatures in Qatar are far too unsafe for all involved, athletes, officials, spectators particularly outdoor events, even at night. The 2022 World Cup is being held in Nov/Dec in air conditioned stadiums. The IOC’s new rules are simply not going to allow an Olympic Games be held in November or December - period. -

Yes unfortunately, the new rules appear to be very firm and were introduced after Sydney 2000 which commenced their Games in September. These new rules favoured Brisbane 2032 but effectively ruled out Sydney, Melbourne and the other southern capitals from bidding again as it is too wet further south of Brisbane. -

‘The Games will go ahead’: Coates shuts down talk of Tokyo cancellation * * * * * * * * * * * * We’ve spent the first half of last year identifying all the worse-case scenarios, we’ve spent the next six months looking at the counter measures. We’re implementing those countermeasures, they have all been predicated on no vaccines. That situation has improved, the Games are going ahead. * * * * * * * * * * * * * There are no hypotheticals, there is no Plan B. The Tokyo Olympics are going ahead come July 23, according to John Coates, as the IOC backs its COVID protocols and vaccination program to trump the potential of a coronavirus outbreak. Coates, who is vice-president of the International Olympic Committee as well as president of the Australian Olympic Committee, said on Saturday that there had been no talk about a late cancellation of the Games by planners or the Japanese government, even as emergency restrictions in Tokyo, Osaka, Hyogo and Kyoto were extended until the end of the month. With the IOC now striking deals with major vaccine manufacturers, to complement already running programs across the world, Coates suggested some 90 per cent of the attending athletes would be vaccinated. Under the IOC Playbook, they are strictly segregated from the Japanese public, with a decision on whether local fans can attend to be made closer to the Games. “We don’t think that’s the case. At the moment, the Games will go ahead, there’s no need for us to be hypothetical,” Coates said. “We’ve spent the first half of last year identifying all the worse-case scenarios, we’ve spent the next six months looking at the countermeasures.“ “We’re implementing those countermeasures, they have all been predicated on no vaccines.” ”That situation has improved, the Games are going ahead.” Coates denied the IOC was putting the health of athletes and Japanese citizens at risk for commercial reasons, or as part of a vanity project for Games officials. He said the Olympics had always been about the athletes and that could never be more true than in Tokyo, where they will live and compete with little outside social interaction. “If we were doing that, we would have pushed ahead with them last year. We didn’t,” Coates said. “The motivation is so these athletes can pursue what they have been dreaming of ... I don’t want these kids to miss the one opportunity they may have in their lifetime. It’s so these kids can fulfil their dream.“ “I was at the Australian Rowing Championships four weeks ago, they are just desperate to compete. They knew the parents aren’t going, they just want to compete, want to test themselves. That’s what most of it is all about.” By Phil Lutton May 8, 2021 Credit: Brisbane Times - click to read more

The Tokyo Games are going ahead in a unique Olympic Bubble which they have been preparing meticulously for 12 months for on the basis of NO VACCINE being available. The fact there is now a vaccine available is a is a bonus for the organisers. The Games are going ahead in Tokyo in 75 days time, as planned. A petition is not going to change anything. The Japanese Prime Minister just said last week to the US President that the Games are going ahead as planned in Tokyo. The Japanese Organising Committee just said it. The International Olympic Committee just said it.
