These are just some of the international sporting federations for outside sports that have not wanted a Doha Olympics in that extreme heat: World Athletics World Rowing World Triathlon International Canoe Federation Internation Federation for Equestrian Sports Money is not going to sway these IOC and these International Sporting Federations to risk their athletes health and lives by agreeing to their outside events to be held in the July/August Doha extreme heat. Sorry buddy, but your views are delusional.

  4. WTF? You’re in dreamland buddy about Doha’s chances, seriously. Are you serious? Comparing Moscow and Beijing’s weather to Doha. (shaking my head). Sorry mate, that’s right off the charts stupid - no offence. You know nothing about Doha’s extreme heat, that’s pretty obvious now. DOHA Temperature With an average high-temperature of 41.5°C (106.7°F) and an average low-temperature of 29.1°C (84.4°F), July is the warmest month. DOHA Heat index In July, the average heat index is appraised at a burning hot 59°C (138.2°F). These weather conditions are considered as extremely dangerous, as heatstroke is imminent. Source: Weather Atlas Data Doha has lost 3 consecutive Bids because of this in July/August timeslot requirment. Doha Three Failed Attempts to get the Olympic Games 2016, 2020 and 2032. 2016 - Doha not shortlisted to the candidature stage by the IOC >> weather too hot 2020 - Doha, not shortlisted to the candidature stage by the IOC >> weather too hot 2032 - Doha, not elevated to Targeted Dialogue phase by the IOC >> weather to hot

  10. Russia is right now banned from the Olympics. No ….. the IOC have not forgotten
  11. Incorrect. The World Cup 2022 is happening in Qatar in air conditioned stadiums November and December. There are no outside events at the World Cup like in the Olympics The Olympic Games are required by the IOC to only be held only in July and August. An Olympics in July/August in Doha, which would see outdoor event athletes die if they competed day or night in that extreme, dangerous heat. Spectators and officials at outside events would die too in that oven-like heat, no exaggeration. That is why an Olympic Games in Doha is not going to happen - period.
  12. Incorrect. Again, those Championships were well outside the July/August Games hosting dates required now by the International Olympic Committee. Due to the hot climate in September/October, there were no morning sessions at the 2019 World Athletics Championships and events were held in the late afternoon onward. Long-distance road events were scheduled to start around midnight local time. This is not possible in July/August when the IOC now require the Games to be held. Not being able to the Games in July/August because of the hotter weather was a dealbreaker is one of the main reasons why the Doha 2032 candidature was not elevated to the Targeted Dialogue phase.

  15. I put that list together myself, right here at home. Bach nor the IOC has never released such a list on 2036 interest in hosting. I am a long time Olympic Games fan for all Olympic Games. I’ve been to Olympic Opening Ceremonies in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 where I worked as the volunteer team leader at the triathlon turning point, on the field of play for media access at the cycling road finish line and time trial. I put the list together by googling the many media reports with the links of interested parties, cities and countries who have stated publicly they are interested in Hosting the 2036 Olympic Games. I may not even have captured all the interest. I post on many different editions of the Olympic Games around the world, Summer and Winter, across several Olympics blogs including Totallympics, Gamesbids and Skyscrapercity.
  16. Coventry to chair IOC Coordination Commission for Brisbane 2032 - 7Oct21 - Inside The Games Kirsty Coventry has been appointed to chair the International Olympic Committee Coordination Commission for Brisbane 2032. 18. ‘Change’ can be hard to accept. But at last count, like it or not, there well over 30 locations around the globe who have expressed early interest in Hosting in 2036. It’s why Thomas Bach said this recently: The Olympics have plenty of suitors, IOC president says - 23Aug21 - Live Mint
  19. Queensland Premier announces herself as Minister for the 2032 Olympics - 7Oct21 - Brisbane Times Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will be the minister for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. New ministerial roles were announced on Thursday at Government House, as the state government said there was “no time to waste” in preparing for the Games. Deputy Premier Steven Miles will be the Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympics Infrastructure. Treasurer Cameron Dick will be Minister for Trade and Investment, while Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe will be the Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympics and Paralympics Sport and Engagement. “Hosting the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be the biggest single transformational project in Queensland’s history,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
  20. No, Brisbane’s sub-tropical weather is fine in July and August and has much the same “winter” as many northern hemisphere Summers. There was no caving in regarding Brisbane’s 2032 Games Hosting dates - never. They have always proposed and wanted the Games to be held in July August as the State of Queensland’s weather in July and August is gorgeous - perfect for athletes. Whereas Sydney and Melbourne are cold and wet much further south. Sydney 2000 was given special two-week dispensation to open their Games on 15 September. But it was after those Games, NBC put their foot down. The previous traditional bidding contests with a dramatic host announcment ended with the 2019 election of Milano-Cortina for 2026 pitted against Are-Stockholm under the old broken bidding rules which are gone, gone, gone, thank goodness. It’s not bidding anymore. It’s one to one dialogue with the IOC Future Host Commission. The first election under the New Norm massive changes made to whole process occurred on 21 July 2021 with Brisbane’s election has 2032 host. Under the new system, a bunch of interested parties can be in the Continuous Dialogue phase, but only one will be elevated to the Targeted Dialogue phase for possible election. That’s the way it works now and it’s generated massive early interest from all round the globe in hosting in 2036. 118 reforms to the old broken bidding system. We’ll see how 2030, 2034 and 2036 pans out and who bet’s elevated for Targeted Dialogue. Whoever does will likely be put up for a vote as Host for those Games The IOC’s New Norm << click on the link
  21. Yes, NBC long have had considerable influence over the Games and events timings because of the million of $$ they pay for broadcast rights. That is public knowledge and has been that way for many years. In the recent Tokyo Games for instance, it was NBC who influenced the IOC and FINA to hold the swimming finals in the mornings so that it was prime time back in the States. The International Sporting Federations also are consulted and have considerable influence with the scheduling of Games Dates, and event timings.
