  1. However, the tracks are not really comparable in terms of profile and the athletes are also used to this in terms of training volume. And the World Cup starters could certainly start two 50ks in two weeks, but after that they would definitely be out and if the next race is two days later, it's just not feasible.
  2. The Norwegians prefer individual starts The calendar is actually a bit confusing. The last classic sprint is in Falun in mid-February, then only three skating sprints, can't you add some variety? And then there's the World Cup in Falun in mid-February. One week before the World Championships, where the Swedish national team, the home team, has already announced that the majority of the World Championship starters will be in training camp. Seriously? I can already see that almost none of the World Cup starters will be competing there ...
  3. Cogne (ITA) has prevailed over Ulricehamn (SWE) and will replace the World Cup in Nove Mesto (CZE). This means that a total of 10 World Cup races are planned in Italy next season.
  4. The IBU has announced some stupid rules for the new season. Among other things, the top 15 in the overall World Cup will start with a 60-second delay with bib numbers 42 to 70. If there are low conditions again, this is a huge disadvantage for the athletes with the high numbers. https://www.biathlonworld.com/news/rule-changes-2024-2025-season/4Y2Ck3I9b3oprKBerFIlyQ
  5. And in the Nordic events, they were very creative again... yet they once again copied the same crap from the previous games. For the cross-country skiers, the first week is completely packed, so not everyone competed in every event, and the entire second week consisted only of team sprints and the 50 km race … Unfortunately, there were no night events for the Alpine skiers in Bormio, even though there were floodlights available.
  6. A maximum of three Nordic combined athletes per country are allowed to compete at the Olympics, so there is no possibility of fielding two teams. The field of participants has been reduced to 36 athletes.
  7. Certainly not a second. But France, the Netherlands and Germany were only just behind and these relay teams can still add to their tally. And first they have to get through, that already went wrong in Munich.
  8. Jordier is their best runner? Never ... He didn't run at the World Championships last year either.
  9. Germany has exchanged two athletes for the preliminary round (both men). Don't the rules stipulate that only one athlete may be changed?
  10. The first competitions are already listed in the venues description on the organizer's homepage, for example ... Biathlon: Mixed Relay 08.02 Alpine: Downhill Women 07.02 Alpine: Downhill Men 08.02 Ski Jumping: 07.02 Cross Country Skiing: 07.02 https://milanocortina2026.olympics.com/en/places/ There isn't a complete schedule yet, is there?
  11. Some updates from the IBU meeting: - the Super Sprint will be deleted from all IBU race series - the Mixed Relay will always be 4x6km in the future, no matter if women or men start
  12. France will not take part in the Junior European Championships in Poland in February as the journey there would be too far and expensive. https://www.nordicmag.info/biathlon-trop-loin-et-trop-cher-la-saison-prochaine-la-france-nira-pas-en-pologne-pour-la-junior-cup-1005/

  17. Rather, it was Hennig who slowed down the rest. That's why there was such a big gap in the first place.
  18. Valnes was not disqualified in Trondheim either. At least Ilar won't care about the disqualification.
  19. But you can't punish Dahlqvist either, Hennig led to the situation.
  20. Yes, she has to go full speed immediately and outrun Skistad like in Planica. Otherwise she will face the same threat in Lahti.
  21. Sundling also made the same tactical mistake as in Falun. Last year she managed it better, but probably the form is just not that good.
  22. Will be no real City Sprint in Tallinn, the course will be on the Song Festival Ground. This is the venue: They will be racing twice to the top. Course map: https://www.owc.ee/en/2023en/maps-23
