Frankly speaking even in shooting world championship our shooters are always in 9th to 12th Bracket except Jitu Rai who played well below his level.... Since all of them dont follow world shooting championships which happens every quarterly or sometimes on monthly basis... They will find our results bit astonishing...For eg Mairaj has qualified twice in finals and no medals yet... Gagan narang actually shoot well today or else he would have been in 20th to 25th position.... Chain singh performed below par... Hats off Atanu das .... You played very well and no regrets for your loss...

You are right .... maybe as fans sometimes we expect to much...

Olympics this year is making me lose interest in Indian sports

Shobha De is just cheap sleazy novel writer whose comments seriously doesnt count... Its like Sunny leone commenting about acting of amitabh bachchan when he gave a flop

I guess India need more exposure with our own people... I am sure 25% indians still feel that Virat Kohli is a medal contender.... All the national games should be given same exposure like Olympics ... Schools should have some sports mandatory and emphasis on those students who do well in sports... We have limited participation in sports .. we need to get more enthusiasm in Volley ball, basket ball, Judo etc...

Somehow last olympics we got lucky medals in shooting from Vijay Kumar , Gagan narang was bit expected.... This time only jitu rai was prospect and he failed.... This is the result even in World shooting championship where India get mostly 1 or no medals... so expected but those who hardly follow shooting and expecting miracles will consider this as a failure...

good day atlast...Hockey ensured that India need pull there socks in last quarter ...all the hard work of first 3 quarters will go in wind if 4th quarter our team play lethargic or lose composure..Manpreet was crumbling and losing easy balls in defence.... As such We were much better team today and even yesterday where we should have actually won against Germany... The best part about this match i can now expect medal from Indian hockey coz they are now not that team who will just scoop all the balls from defence as they cant play it in midfield and hoping someone will take it... or hit a hard shot in D expecting some indian stick diverting the ball in goal post... They are now playing awesome hockey with stamina equal to europeans and skills better than them except 4th quarter stamina....Now in archery, I am watching Atanu BINDas for the first time in archery and this guy is awesome... He has got nothing to do with external pressure ... Hitting the last 10 at such a pressure situation especially the cuban racing back from behind to equal 4-4 is commendable... 29 series on last set shows us all ... He is calm composed and confident... Lee should be sad to meet him so early for sure... Hope this will also ignite our woman archers.. Deepika and Bombayla devi may also play well tomorrow... Didnt expect anything from Heena but surprised to see her score low in precision where she is always at 295 and above range...

Its too sad that we want every indian participating in olympics win gold while nobody is even interested how these sportsperson have qualified for Olympics... Nobody follows sports till olympics except cricket where the cricketers servant is getting higher salary than some of our sportsperson... Check Saina then Indian men Hockey... they got some push and they are doing good... while deepika kumari win world cup ... creates world record .. at that time somewhere near obituary we find this news and she may be given Rs 50000 as inaaam.... suddenly in olympics billion eyes will focus on this poor girl who never got importance for her past work and now we want her to get only gold... Anyways point is simple and easy... in this forum too I have seen sports lover posting indian athletes updates irrespective of events and are regularly updated ... This also helps us to monitor our sportsperson progress... while some are here only for olympics... Olympics is not everything and if we need to make it everything then give importance to all of there success too...

if only all our athletes get same attention in national level and other events they could have taken pressure like cricketers... somehow badminton and hockey is getting good importance and viewership ... we are able to see the positive in these sports....shooting archery and other sports hardly matter for indians... they are considered once in 4 years... they are bound to crumble in pressure
