  1. I don't understand the rules, but the chinese grabbing the other guy at the end is ok?
  2. Egypt made unnecesary mistakes: 1. Never choose to kick second. 2. Never select your best taker to shoot the 5th.
  3. [hide] Knockout Round January 23rd - February 6th, 2022 Third-Place Match Date & Time (GMT +1) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 February 5th 2022, h. 20:00 Burkina Faso 1 2 Cameroon Final Date & Time (GMT +1) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 February 6th 2022, h. 20:00 Senegal 1 0 Egypt [/hide]
  4. No way. As stated above Asia has 5 good teams yet one will miss the tournament. Any of them would beat Chile/Canada 7 times out of 10 (personal opinion after watching these teams many times). Pan-America does have an argument to deserve 4 places among the women though.
  5. 6. I really don't want to draw Canada for the world cup as the bottom row team.
  7. Canada wins the last ticket for the world cup after winning 1-0 against the US. Return to a major tournament for them after 28 years.
  8. [hide] Knockout Round January 23rd - February 6th, 2022 8 Nations, the Winners of each Quarterfinal qualify for the Semifinals Quarterfinals Date & Time (GMT +1) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 January 29th 2022, h. 17:00 Gambia Cameroon January 29th 2022, h. 20:00 Burkina Faso 1 2 Tunisia January 30th 2022, h. 17:00 Egypt 0 1 Morocco January 30th 2022, h. 20:00 Senegal 2 0 Equatorial Guinea [/hide]
  9. They quote her in the article talking about the accident so I assume she was in a decent state of mental and physical health (as decent as you can be after something like this I mean), so, I would also assume our colleague was not present.
  10. I'm completely out of the loop with these games so, sorry if this was posted elsewhere but Bruna is out, she suffered some car accident when traveling to Munich. If I understand portuguese correctly she's alive but broke some bones. The driver sadly died. https://ge.globo.com/olimpiadas-de-inverno/noticia/brasileira-sofre-acidente-de-carro-a-caminho-do-aeroporto-e-esta-fora-das-olimpiadas-de-inverno.ghtml
  11. Korea, China, Japan and India have qualified for the WC after making the semifinals of women's Asia Cup. No surprises there as Asia had 4 quotas and the distance in quality between those teams and the rest is inmense.
  12. I'm pretty sure the cut is being made now in February or March, after the continental tournaments. I saw posts from several african federations saying their teams were aiming for qualification to the games in this competition. And well... T&T is already toasted in the panam cup and has been behind Ghana for a long time and the other african Commonwealth nations didn't use this chance to them take down, so Ghana is making the cut regardless of the month.
  13. South Africa has qualified after defeating Ghana 3-1 to win african cup of nations. I believe Ghana qualifies for the Commonwealth Games hockey tournament with this 2nd place though.
  14. South Africa has qualified after defeating Egypt in a shoot-out to win african cup of nations.
  15. Morocco and Nigeria are with one foot in Qatar. Egypt R.I.P. CMR vs ALG deadly match. Let's go Mali.
  16. African play-offs v v v v v
  17. 18. 30 consecutive matches beating Djibouti was spectacular from Algeria but bumping into a powerhouse like and keep on winning was asking too much from them I think.
  19. Any particular reason the bet contest was abandoned? If it was time I could have helped but eh
  20. Dude, there is literally 0 chance of any non-democratic form of government to take over in modern Chile. The system and institutions there are too strong and established. Communist parties in Argentina and Brazil were part of coalitions in recent governments, and no, nothing anywhere close as a "full-scale takeover" took place. Much less would it happen in Chile.
  21. Olympic athletics team? Olympic shooting team? With that criteria every sport is a team sport lol
  22. I fear Chile, Peru and Bolivia will be punching bags in their respective divisions more often than not but, nonetheless, this is great news
  23. Olimpia Awards ceremony took place yesterday (most notorious sport award in the country, voted by journalists). Winner of the Olimpia de Oro ("golden Olimpia") and thus chosen argentine sportperson of the year was... Lionel Messi Extremely predictable winner must I say. This award historically has tried to stay away from footballers (this is "only" the 7th golden olimpia for a footballer in 67 years of the award and Messi's second) but this year there wasn't really any option. Also, tennis player Diego Schwartzman was retroactively given the same award but for 2020 (the ceremony couldn't take place last year). Here is a list with the previous winners.
  24. You guys know the car does 90% of the job these days, right? To me this is as exciting as scripted "professional" wrestling Real F1 ended 15-20 years ago.
