  1. C'mon, Vonn crashed face-first into the fence while Ross hit the deck with her ass. Besides I don't think someone with so many sponsors like Vonn would show her almost bare butt on Instagram
  2. So both C.Gow & Guzik get their PBs here (10th & 24th).
  3. Kinga Zbylut has picked a cold and will DNS in the individual.
  4. I was talking about Gow not Guzik Guzik won't sniff a MS in his lifetime.
  5. They said Ruhpolding MS This is correct: http://biathlonresults.com/?IBUId=BTCAN12803199301
  6. Grzegorz Guzik on course for PB? (previously 26th).
  7. Christian Gow could have a Top 10. That would be a PB? Polish TV just said his PB is 11th
  8. And people complained about Fourcade's dominance?
  9. Well, de Jong was kinda in better form this season? But Sablikova still got it done in the end which is maybe a mild surprise?
  10. She finished 4th? So I guess you didn't want her to medal?
  11. She won't take part in the slalom IMO. We could see like 20-22 at the slalom start list tbh. This event is really going out with a whimper.
  12. They even dragged Korzeniowski's name into this shitshow. 10k race walk for men? Hell, that's pure BS. This equality thing is total BS. But I get it, nobody cares about race walking anyway so one should feel happy it's still there in the OG programme.
  13. Throwing money at sports usually works. Look how GB improved once they got the London OG and started to pile medals from Beijing onwards. They had 1 gold in Atlanta before they shifted the money from public lottery into sports (that system is applied in Poland too).
  14. Mayer with the green light but misses a gate after the jump
  15. Paris 1 sec. faster than Feuz
  16. Man, I'm sick & tired of this Lakers drama. It only would have been worse if LeBron joined Knicks. Why don't they rename them Los Angeles LeBrons anyway?
  17. Aerials were innovative in the 90s, now they're old school. And too many athletes from China & Belarus are good at it for US media to hype that event
  18. I believe IOC will prefer more events with aerial tricks which are supposedly more fan-friendly
  19. There are only few old school downhillers with Ortlieb-body type left. Paris is one and Feuz after he gained significant weight some time ago. Obviously Svindal too. But the former SG speciallists were simply Downhill guys who didn't have the Ortlieb-body type. Atle Skardal is one and Gunther Mader would have been too if only he wasn't an all-arounder in first place. That's the difference between now & then. We don't have any guys even doing 3 events (minus slalom) after Jansrud ditched GS and Carlo Janka has completely dropped off the boil. Women seem to switch to GS/SG tandem which usually was the most rare. Hell, even Bassino does SG even though she competes in AC. Maryna G-D gave up on slalom since she says she can achieve better results in Super-G. This is a momentum change, Rebensburg & Brignone found success in Super-G after being classic GS speciallists to begin with.
  20. But then people would complain - and they are doing it already - that it's all about gliding when the course is speed-oriented. I've read a ton of negative comments about Lake Louise which is probably the most old school course for women that it's "too boring". Then you have Bad Kleinkirchheim where even peak Vonn struggled, it was so technical and disgusting for a DH.
  21. Speed speciallists are focused on Downhill these days, they try SG but most courses are too technical for them to make an impact so GS converts are doing better and better. Weirather, Gut & Veith are like three top "speed speciallists" who excel in SG but Tina DNF, Gut is off-form and Veith obviously injured. And you can't deny someone like Shiffrin talent. It's like 2 or 4 man bob speciallists which you maybe know better since you're a German. There are some guys who do better in 2 or 4 but some can win gold in both. Shiffrin's body isn't all that ill-suited for SG. She's 1.70m /66 kg. Compare that to DH/SG-speciallist Goggia 1,69m /67 kg.
  22. Yeah, she posted it on Instagram. Vlhova gold medal alert?
  23. IOC rules are different though. Remember Kipketer winning WCh for Denmark but missing 1996 OG?
  24. Shiffrin isn't a classic all-arounder like Wachter or Ertl was. Tina Maze was the last AA skier on the female side and even Vonn only switched to technical events to win the overall. If Shiffrin wanted then she could have won the overall doing SL/GS only. Even Hirscher doesn't do SG anymore because he doesn't have to. The era of all-arounders from 90s/00s will no longer be repeated. Vonn vs Riesch was the last duell of the AA because even Maze only won the overall when Vonn was injured. I used to think Fenninger vs Gut will be the next big duell but it wasn't to be due to injuries. Let's make no mistake, Shiffrin will probably erase Stenmark's record within the next three years. She's 12 wins behind Hirscher but has a better chance of getting to Stenmark first IMO.
