  1. It has to be said that referee Istvan Kovacs could be from Hungarian minority in Romania? His name sounds more Hungarian than Romanian
  2. Barak goes off for two yellows after 20 mins. Absolute stupidity and better news for Hungary.
  3. Yup. Belgium will play France instead Technically Austria has a golden chance to even make the SF!
  4. and ends 1-1 and both teams qualify. Could even bet some money on this draw
  5. I'm sorry but the foul was clearly outside the box (since Hagi's foot was outside the box). Massive VAR luck for Romania.
  6. Only three judokas qualified. Even in Tokyo we still had six. Maybe Szymańska gets a Top 8 finish, otherwise we are miles behind the pack.
  7. Yeah, Slovenia will play the winner of Group E most likely (if Czech Republic doesn't beat Turkey) so that's somewhat more manageable than playing the hosts Germany. At least both teams advanced here, unlike 2018 World Cup where more yellow cards meant Senegal was eliminated in favor of Japan.
  8. That is correct. Excluding Serbia & CIS due to Yugoslavia & Soviet Union/Russia connections the only teams winless in Euro finals except Slovenia are Latvia (3 games), North Macedonia (3 games) and Georgia (2 games)
  9. You all know it will come down to the kick in the last 200 meters anyway. Nobody will break up the pack in the first lap with sheer pace.
  10. If Czech Republic doesn't beat Turkey or Georgia doesn't beat Portugal then England will play Netherlands in 1/8. If Czech Republic beats Turkey by less than three goals (which would eliminate Hungary) that sends the 3rd team from group E to play England (very likely it could be Slovakia) @hckošice So Czechs winning 1-0 or 2-0 eliminates Hungary but 3-0 most likely eliminates Turkey if at least one match in Group E ends in a draw.
  11. vs has a draw written all over it now. What can go wrong here? @hckošice
  12. can still advance with 2 points but they need FOUR things to happen: can't beat has to beat by at least three goals (we'll find that out tomorrow) then in Group F has to beat has to beat If all those four things happen then third place teams from Groups C & F would be eliminated.
  13. Yup, Hungary also loved this goal. vs is the first known 1/8 match on Saturday 6 pm. Like I mentioned before this is the most manageable section to make SF.
  14. Just a reminder the 2nd place in Group B plays Switzerland in 1/8 and then potentially underwhelming England in QF so this is probably the "easiest" path to SF. Italy have a lot to play for.
  15. Spain has picked the B-team for Albania. Even Unai Simon is on the bench.
  16. Yeah, we do scout those names on a regular basis. The latest one was Santiago Hezze from Olympiacos who even received Polish citizenship but declined the call-up offer I don't know if @LDOGor @konigthink he's got a chance to play for Argentina anytime soon.
  17. It's difficult to say. A lot of these US runners peak at the Trials especially if they don't have international experience like let's say Felix.
  18. Yeah, we had good goalkeepers before even by 1970s standards and then Młynarczyk in the 1980s (FC Porto fans might remember him). Overall we had a good crop of keepers in XXI century as well. Boruc was slightly overrated but made a name for himself in Celtic (he was generally disliked in Poland due to playing for Legia, everyone outside of Warsaw usually hates his club in Poland) and now we have a small controversy with Grabara who said he's not interested in sitting on the bench for NT (he would have been picked as GK #3 over Bułka if he didn't say those words and it was forgotten since there's no need to stir the pot for GK #3). Alas with Szczęsny heading for the exit door, Grabara should be in line to be GK #1 unless he fails at Wolfsburg. Skorupski & Bułka ain't exactly slam dunk choice over him right now.
  19. It was speculated that Lewandowski would end his NT career if we didn't qualify for the Euros but now the notion is he will continue for two more years since the next World Cup is in USA and there is a thought he could leave for MLS after Barcelona lets him go. Obviously it's anyone's guess if anyone in MLS would take him when he would be 38yo? But it's to be expected he will resign from NT if we don't qualify for the next World Cup anyway. Also the news is Kamil Grosicki will resign from NT after the France match. The Austria subs were widely panned in our media (especially Probierz sending Grosicki on before Urbański).
  20. It's been confirmed that Wojciech Szczęsny won't play in the last group match vs France and the previous rumours about him retiring from NT after Euro have gained more momentum. Apparently our HC didn't convince him to change his mind and one of the Nations League matches in September (vs Scotland or Croatia) will be his farewell appearance.
  21. Politicians decide who gets to live what life and who doesn't. Even Germany was back at the Olympics in 1952 less than 7 years since World World II ended (which is three years less than Sochi 2014 happened). Bottom line is, some lives are more important than others and this has always been the case. I've been living on this world long enough to realize it's absolutely worthless to listen to any politicians and their reasoning why killing one person is more justified than killing thousands of others. Just get on with the show...
