  1. Dzyuba scores. Ukraine back ahead of Denmark. Turpin really helped the comrades there... twice even.
  2. Kudryashov is lucky to escape a second booking. Guess Turpin doesn't want to help the hosts too much.
  3. Epic failure from Russian defense. This also screws Ukraine
  4. Denmark still needs a second goal to jump ahead of Ukraine if Finland somehow holds onto a draw.
  5. Sabbatini said his wife wants to become US citizen so I assume he holds US citizenship as well. That's the only logical reason why a Slovakian woman would even be granted such an opportunity? I mean living in USA would mean nothing if she was married to a South African? Unless Sabbatini throws his US passport at the Immigrations office https://www.news24.com/sport/golf/pgatour/rory-sabbatini-now-playing-for-slovakia-20190112
  6. Olympics is usually about athletics & swimming when it comes to anchor events each week. Tennis has a lot of global power but it's the same as golf. OG gold medal will never be the pinnacle of the sport's achievement (unless your name is Elena Dementieva who always choked at Grand Slams during her peak).
  7. Very poor game from Ukraine. Now they have to cheer for Belgium and Russia (sic!) later tonight and then probably for Spain to beat Slovakia by 2 goals and Poland not beating Sweden to qualify. If Belgium beats Finland that qualifies Switzerland 100%. Also, Finland would qualify 100% if they at least get a draw vs Belgium (due to superior goal difference over Switzerland). I wonder if Belgium fields a B-team vs Finland? Only T. Hazard is on a yellow card and I read he won't play anyway due to a minor knee injury.
  8. In case of a draw they already have superior goal difference to who finished 3rd in Group A so that's one down. And if Belgium beats Finland later tonight no team from Group B will finish third there on 4 points so that's two down and guaranteed qualification.
  9. Oh, hello! Baumgartner scores! So Austria wants to play Italy then?
  10. There's every chance Ukraine vs Austria ends in a draw? That will get both teams qualified and Ukraine gets to play Italy as the reward
  11. He must have been adopted by a Polish-American family and simply took their name. There's a lot of Polish immigrants living in Wisconsin.
  12. Hawks don't have anybody who can stop Giannis at the rim. 76ers would have had Embiid but Hawks have Capela? Forget it. I think Giannis has stopped following the 3pt shooting craze and he'll be playing to his strenghts again. Of course there's a chance Young & Bogdanovic outscore the Bucks but I just don't see them winning the entire series.
  13. I don't think Svitolina withdraws especially with #2 player Dayana Yastremska on the WADA hook. That only leaves Marta Kostyuk as the only other eligible to play singles IIRC.
  14. Jon Rahm wins the US Open at Torrey Pines. The first major win of his career
  15. @hckoĆĄice Technically he should be refused to participate. Reminds me of the Dolgopolov cotroversy from 2012 Olympics (thpugh that was over money). https://www.espn.com/olympics/summer/2012/tennis/story/_/id/8195168/tennis-alexandr-dolgopolov-laments-olympic-decision Also Maria Sharapova had to play a meaningless Fed Cup match vs Israel in 2008 to be eligible for Beijing SOG (she eventually didn't play at SOG due to injury).
  16. The Embiid & Simmons combo was destined to blow up. One guy can't shoot and the other is injured a lot. I don't see Hawks upsetting Bucks in the finals though.
  17. If you're interested you might read this PR masterpiece. They have their asses covered from PR stand point. https://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/uefaorg/Respect/02/61/62/38/2616238_DOWNLOAD.pdf
  18. Germany is the place where communism was born after all so it's your country's fault anyway And yes, in communism every person was supposed to be equal. Boy, did that prove to be wrong or what!
  19. Because equal rights is a political myth, that's why. It didn't work with communism and it doesn't work with liberal democracy either.
  20. Yeah, falling for Russian demands when it comes to Ukrainian jerseys shows how hypocritical UEFA - and politics in general - really is. I'm pretty sure no anti-discrimination organization from UK will say a single word about War in Donbas or annexation of Crimea. Can't stand these double standards.
