Good news from womens boxing... 4 medals assured........ that too two in olympic categories with world class competition

As some one said Sarita (in 60kg) is done with... we should try with youngster.... otherwise we have good womens team in olympic categories including neeraj and saweety

Olympic Boxing

51-Mary and 69-Lovlina anyway select themselves

57 -Neeraj was cheated and looked a fine boxer , we already have sonia lather and sonia chahal who are both world championship medallists and Jamuna Bora really looked good , if we have a fair trial between the four surely the boxer who emerges would be world class

60- Sarita looked completely out of form and just did not have the fire she normally has ( she was  not technically ever very strong ) , we definaltely need simaranjit or possiblly one of 57 girls to move up and take over this  key slot

75 - Saweety did well at the  world championship reached the round of 16 lost to world number 2 in a close bout but Pooja Rani won the asian championship and lost out to her , it is a hair breath between them................... again an open trial will throw up the better

I think we have a squad where all should qualify to the olympics ( provided Sarita is moved out ) and we can expect 1-3 medals depending on form

    • The only ones complaining about the short track refs are Italians, imo. Not even on this forum, but in general, from what I've been seeing on live chats and other social media sites. That says a lot to be honest. I suspect it's partially due to them not performing to the high standard they're expected to perform at especially at the Olympics. The refs make a lot of mistakes for everyone, there's no bias against or towards anyone    Plus, Italy have won 6 medals already.... the most you've won at a Worlds since 2016.
    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
    • I wonder if all Cuba, Iran and Venezuela will be able to travel and compete in LA at all... Hopefully that yes.
