I don't have enough time to do the schedule tonight, sorry. I was working on it and lost it, but now I gotta go. :/

I've been busy all day, so I can't get around to it either. I'll be off of school all next week so I'll be able to it then!

:USA  Team USA 2018 - Winter Olympics Schedule :USA

All times in PST

Day 7 (February 16th)

Alpine Skiing

Women's Slalom: 5:00pm/8:15pm

Team USA

Alice Merryweather

Megan McJames

Mikaela Shiffrin
Resi Stiegler

Thoughts/Background Information

1 race down for Shiffin, and it was gold. Can she repeat that in her best event?

Men's Super-G: 6:00pm

Team USA

Ryan Cochran-Siegle

Jared Goldberg

Ted Ligety
Andrew Weibrecht

Thoughts/Background Information

Jansrud and Svindal are the favorites in this, although Weibrecht was a suprise silver medalist in 2014. Maybe another suprise is in the works?

Cross-Country Skiing

Men 15km Freestyle - 10:00pm

Team USA

Erik Bjornsen

Noah Hoffman

Tyler Kornfield

Scott Patterson

Thoughts/Background Information

I would be shocked if we got a top 20 in this one.

Curling

Men's

:USA United States of America vs Sweden :SWE - 4:05pm

Team USA

John Shuster

Tyler George

Matt Hamilton

John Landsteiner

Team Sweden

Niklas Edin

Oskar Eriksson

Rasmus Wranaa

Christoffer Sundgren

Thoughts/Background Information

Here we go again with Shuster. He's got flashes of brilliance followed by sessions of incompetence. I don't know what to think of this one.

Men's

:USA United States of America vs Denmark :DEN  - 4:05pm

Team USA

John Shuster

Tyler George

Matt Hamilton

John Landsteiner

Team Denmark

Rasmus Stjerne

Johnny Frederiksen

Mikkel Pulsen

Oliver Dupont

Thoughts/Background Information

TBD

Figure Skating

Men's Short  - 5:00pm

Team USA

Nathan Chen

Adam Rippon

Vincent Zhou

Thoughts/Background Information

Well, it's time for Nathan Chen to prove how good he actually is. An easy medal favorite, he needs to recover from a bad team event to hopefully pull out another medal for the US.

Freestyle Skiing

Women's Aerials Finals - 3:00am

Team USA

Kiley McKinnon

Madison Olsen

Recap

These two qualified 5th and 6th in the second round of qualification. They have 3 final rounds, 12->9->6.

Ice Hockey

Men's

:USA United States of America vs Slovakia :SVK - 7:10pm

[I don't want to type all of their names]

Thoughts/Background Information

Well, the last game was heartbreaking. An overtime loss to Slovenia makes this matchup essentially a must win. They need 2 more victories for a high seed, otherwise we could be facing a very strong team in the quarterfinals.

Skeleton

Men's Runs 3 & 4 - 6:30pm

Team USA

Matthew Antoine

John Daly

Thoughts/Background Information

Currently in 11th and 13th, they are outside shots for a medal.

Women's Runs 1 & 2 - 3:20am

Team USA

Katie Uhlaender

Kendall Wesenberg

Thoughts/Background Information

I don't know if we will get a medal here, but Katie can pull out some good runs.

Ski Jumping

Men's Large Hill Qualification - 4:30am

Team USA

Kevin Bickner

Michael Glasder

Casey Larson

Will Rhoads

Recap

Well, we aren't going to medal in this either. This is an experience event, hopefully we can get some to improve the team.

Snowboard

Women's Snowboard Cross - 5:00pm

Team USA

Faye Gulini

Lindsey Jacobellis

Meghan Tierney

Thoughts/Background Information

JACO!  The 5x(5-time!, 5-time!), reigning world champion has had some struggles with the olympics, going out in the semis in Vancouver and Sochi after getting a silver in Turin. Gulini was 4th in Sochi, and is an overall good snowboarder. Tierney is only 19, and is coming off a broken back.

Speed Skating

Women's 5000m - 3:00am

Team USA

Carlijn Schoutens

Thoughts/Background Information

Not the most likely victory for us, Schoutens is going to be going up against legends like Martina Sabikova. Claudia Pechstein and Ivanie Blondin are also medal threats, but not likely for Schoutens.

Nina Roth

Tabitha Peterson

Aileen Geving

Rebecca Hamilton

Team Denmark

Madeleine Dupont

Denise Dupont

Julie Hogh

Thoughts/Background Information

This is a must win match for the USA Women, Denmark currently sits at 1-4 right underneath us.

Team USA

Nina Roth

Tabitha Peterson

Aileen Geving

Rebecca Hamilton

Team China

Wang Bingyu

Ma Jingyi

Thoughts/Background Information

This is another must win match for us.

Men's

:USA United States of America vs Canada :CAN  - 9:05pm

Team USA

John Shuster

Tyler George

Matt Hamilton

John Landsteiner

Team Canada

Kevin Koe

Marc Kennedy

Brent Laing

Ben Hebert

Thoughts/Background Information

I don't see us winning this, we need to though!

Figure Skating

Ice Dance - 5:00pm

Team USA

Maia Shibutani/Alex Shibutani

Madison Chock/Evan Bates

Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue

Thoughts/Background Information

Madison and Zachary are 4th in the World for Ice Dancing so if they can perform to the best of their abilities we might be able to snag a medal. All of our teams are very good (4th, 6th, 7th)

Freestyle Skiing

Women's Halfpipe Qualification - 5:00pm

Team USA

Brita Sigourney

Annalisa Drew

Devin Logan

Maddie Bowman

Thoughts/Background Information

All of our Women have very good chances to get a qualify! Keep your eye on Brita! If I'm not mistaken the top 12 will Qualify!

Ice Hockey

Women's Semifinals

:USA United States of America vs Finland :FIN - 8:10pm

Thoughts/Background Information

We have already beat Finland in the group stage 3-1!

Speed Skating

Men's 500m - 3:00am

Team USA

Kimani Griffen

Jonathan Garcia

Mitchell Whitmore

Thoughts/Background Information

I don't think we have a chance

Women's Team Persuit - 3:00am

Team USA

Heather Bergsma

Brittany Bowe

Mia Manganello

Carlijn Schoutens

Thoughts/Background Information

I don't think we have a chance here aswell

Ski Jumping

Men's Team - 4:30am

Team USA

Casey Larson

William Rhoads

Michael Gladser

Kevin Brickner

Recap

Men's team is dominated by Norway and Germany so I don't see how we can get in the top 3

Snowboard

Women's Big Air Qualification - 4:30pm

Team USA

Hailey Langland

Julia Marino

Jamie Anderson

Jessika Jenson

Thoughts/Background Information

Julia Marino is in 12th place for this event in the World Cup. I think Julia has the greatest chance of getting a medal but the chances are slim as Austria, Norway and Japan have some great athletes.

Bobsleigh

2-Man Run 3 & 4 - 3:15am

Team USA

Justin Olsen/Evan Weinstock

Nick Cunningham/Hakeem Abdul-Saboor

Codie Bascue/Sam McGuffie

Thoughts/Background Information

At this point it's impossible for us to get top 3 but we can still cheer on our teams and hope they perform well!

Feels good to be back doing these! I'm already planning what I will be posting during the off season! I can't wait!

Until now i will classify this olympics as kind of dissapointing for us, 5 medals, 10 gold, shiffrin no slalom medal, no gold in ski slopestyle, no medal for nathan chan, and again speed skating no medal, off course things can change a little bit, i was thinking 10 gold 20 total, but dont think it will happen (even then it will be way less then the 28 total of sochi, and 37 of vancouver) i guess it's compensated with very good summer games again

This is my first time fully watching the Winter Olympics so I don't know what to expect but I'm still surprised by the results so far aswell. I honestly think we could have a in Mixed Doubles Curling if it wasn't for throwing our lead at end 5 most games. I mean I feel like I've noticed lots of young athletes these games (Red Gerard, Chloe Kim, Nathan Chen, Maame Biney, etc.) Who will only get better over the years.

:USA  Team USA 2018 - Winter Olympics Schedule :USA

All times in PST

Day 12 (February 21st)

Alpine Skiing

Women's Downhill: 6:00pm

Team USA

Breezy Johnson

Alice McKennis

Laurenne Ross
Lindsey Vonn

Thoughts/Background Information

After a pretty disappointing Super G, will Vonn recover in her best event?

Bobsleigh

Women's Heats 3 & 4 - 3:40am

Team USA

Elena Meyers Taylor

Lauren Gibbs

Jamie Grubel-Poser

Aja Evans

Thoughts/Background Information

Elena Meyers Taylor has won 2 medals in the 2 women event, Silver and Bronze. She sits in 2nd with her brakewoman Lauren Gibbs, who is making her Olympic debut. The other US sled has the Bronze medalists from Sochi, who are sitting in 4th. Great chance for a medal, even 2.

Cross-Country Skiing

Men and Women's Team Sprint - 12:00mid

Team USA

Erik Bjornsen

Simi Hamilton

Jessie Diggins

Kikkan Randall

Thoughts/Background Information

I don't think our Men's team will do that well, but our Women's team won the 2013 Worlds and Diggins and Randall both medalled in the sprint in the 2017 Worlds.

Curling

Men's

:USA United States of America vs Great Britian :GBR - 9:05pm

Team USA

John Shuster

Tyler George

Matt Hamilton

John Landsteiner

Team Great Britian

Kyle Smith

Thomas Muirhead

Kyle Waddell

Cameron Smith

Women's

:USA United States of America vs Sweden :SWE  - 3:05am

Team USA

John Shuster

Tyler George

Matt Hamilton

John Landsteiner

Team Sweden

Anna Hasselborg

Sara McManus

Agnes Knochenhauer

Sofia Mabergs

Thoughts/Background Information

Both of these matches follow similar paths. Last draw for their respective genders, facing a top team, with a spot in the tiebreakers on the line. MUST win for both. Women also need a Japan loss to Switzerland.

Figure Skating

Ladies Short  - 5:00pm

Team USA

Karen Chen

Mirai Nagasu

Bradie Tennell

Thoughts/Background Information

I think these 3 are spectacular skaters. I don't think they will medal. Medvedeva, Osmond, Zagitova, Kostner, Miyahara, Sakamoto, etc, are all sooooo good.

Ice Hockey

Men's

:USA United States of America vs Czech Republic :CZE - 7:10pm

[I don't want to type all of their names]

Thoughts/Background Information

Nothing else matters, Quarterfinals are now. Big win against Slovakia should give them a good amount of confidence to hopefully get a good push into the semis.

Snowboard

Men's Big Air - 5:00pm

Team USA

Chris Corning

Red Gerard

Kyle Mack

Ryan Stassel

Thoughts/Background Information

Ryan Stassel has my favorite snowboarder nickname: "Razzle Dazzle." That said, I don't think we're going to get too much of that. These 4 are slopestyle guys, so I don't know what level of tricks they will pull out.

Speed Skating

Ladies' Team Pursuit - 4:13am

Team USA

Carlijn Schoutens

Heather Bergsma

Brittany Bowe

Mia Manganello

Thoughts/Background Information

So...the Dutch are a thing. And they are damn good. I think we lose the semi, but we might pull an upset in the Bronze final.

Men's Team Pursuit - 3:00am

Team USA

Brian Hansen

Emery Lehman

Joey Mantia

Thoughts/Background Information

This is Final D. We're just going for pride here.

Alpine Skiing

Women's Downhill: 6:00pm

Team USA

Breezy Johnson - 7th

Alice McKennis - 5th

Laurenne Ross - 15th
Lindsey Vonn - 3rd

Recap

I feel that it is safe to call this a success. Obviously, it is great that Vonn got a bronze medal, but Breezy and Alice getting Top 10 finishes are also awesome! Was hoping that Vonn would win the gold, but I'll settle for a bronze.

Bobsleigh

Women's Heats 3 & 4 - 3:40am

Team USA

Elena Meyers Taylor - 2nd

Lauren Gibbs - 2nd

Jamie Grubel-Poser - 5th

Aja Evans - 5th

Recap

So close! That's Elena's second silver medal in a row, by only 7 hundredths of a second. Great showing by both sleds, Jamie and Aja missed a medal by only .13 seconds. Hopefully they can make one more great run.

Cross-Country Skiing

Men and Women's Team Sprint - 12:00mid

Team USA

Erik Bjornsen - 6th

Simi Hamilton - 6th

Jessie Diggins - 1st

Kikkan Randall - 1st

Recap

GOLD MEDAL! First in Cross Country skiing for the US and first medal for women's cross country skiing for the US. Amazing! Stellar performance by those two and by the men's pair, getting a 6th place finish. Very exciting stuff.

Curling

Tyler George

Matt Hamilton

John Landsteiner

Team Great Britian

Kyle Smith

Thomas Muirhead

Kyle Waddell

Cameron Smith

Recap

Winner winner, chicken dinner! Big win for the Shuster rink to put them into the top 4 and give them a birth in the semis! They are guaranteed a top 4 after this win and Japan's loss. Wonderful!

Women's

:USA United States of America 6 vs 9 Sweden :SWE  - 3:05am

Team USA

Nina Roth

Tabitha Peterson

Aileen Geving

Becca Hamilton

Team Sweden

Anna Hasselborg

Sara McManus

Agnes Knochenhauer

Sofia Mabergs

Recap

Oof. Very close match, down to the 10th end. So close to getting into the tiebreakers and possibly a medal. Still, good performance from the Roth rink, and they should be proud.

Figure Skating

Ladies Short  - 5:00pm

Team USA

Karen Chen - 10th

Mirai Nagasu - 9th

Bradie Tennell - 11th

Recap

That's rather amusing, that the USA skaters all were next to each other. However, they are well out of the medals, as each one of them had a fall.

Ice Hockey

Men's

:USA United States of Americavs  3 Czech Republic :SVK - 7:10pm

[I don't want to type all of their names]

Recap

This was a sad game to watch. Incredible performance from everyone, and they had a good run, sans a few games. Still, was hoping for a little more in that shootout.

Snowboard

Men's Big Air - 5:00pm

Team USA

Chris Corning - Q

Red Gerard - Q

Kyle Mack - Q

Ryan Stassel

Recap

3 out of 4 ain't bad. Stassel had a rough heat, but the other 3 have good potential to throw down something huge in the final.

Speed Skating

Ladies' Team Pursuit - 4:13am

Team USA

Carlijn Schoutens

Heather Bergsma

Brittany Bowe

Mia Manganello

A victory for America over Canada to give us the bronze! Great job, and the first speed skating medal for the US at these games.

Men's Team Pursuit - 3:00am

Team USA

Brian Hansen

Emery Lehman

Joey Mantia

Recap

We lost. Last place. Need a lot of improvement here.
