Recommended Posts

The end of the Decathlon M, with :NOR and :GRN in the podium !

+12 today, and we are at 70 !!!! There is still one week to have 30 new countries ! (and il remains 10 countryes il the 4 first groups)

This night we will have Surfing with :PER and :CRC. Costa Rica can have their first medal since 2000, and Peru since 1992 !

edit : Surfing is delayed again lol, the counts are blocked for today !

Edited by Nicky Pryde

Congrats to these 12 countries for their first medal : :LTU :DEN :PHI :THA :ALG :KGZ :BUL :LCA :DMA :JAM :NOR :GRN ! Especially for Saint Lucia and Dominica, 2 countries from the groupe 7. The total in this group is now 70 after 147 events !

However in Tokyo, we had 71 nations after 134 events, so it's not finish at all...

Tomorrow morning, here are what we will watch :

Badminton SF Single Women : :INA

Badminton SF Single Men : :MAS

Golf M : :CHI

Equestrian Dressage Ind : :FIN

No new medal this morning... We hope there will be something this afternoon !

Cyclism Road Race W : :FIN :MRI :LUX

Gymnastic Artistic Rings M :ARM

Badminton Team M :MAS

Boxing :PUR :IOC :PAN

The day was pretty bad, but finally we've got 4 new countries in the same time !

- :CHI wins the gold in Skeet W

- :MAS win their match for the bronze in Baminton  Team M

- and we have victories from :IOC and :PAN in Boxing -75kg W ! The Refugee Comitee was the last country from the "Special" Group, and Panama is the second in the 6th Group

We are now at 74 !

Today, +5 countries, so we are at 75 countries. Only 25 left ! :CHI :MAS :IOC :PAN :ARM

That's better than the total in Athens, the Summer Olympic Games with the least of countries awarded in the XXIe century. But still less than Tokyo after the same amount of events...

Tomorrow should not be a good day, so in the place, here are countries with the best chances for each event, regarding the rankings (around top15 in their category) and if they are at QF or SF now.

(nb : we can also have some surprises, but here, i'll give the best chances)

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.

    • That's so they can play in both venues in Canada.  Will mean that the UEFA Path A winner has to go from Toronto to Los Angeles and then up to Seattle.   Someone was bound to draw the short straw in that group since 4 of the matches are Central, but 2 are in Santa Clara.  Unfortunately, that's Algeria.
