2022 Championships Results

 

Men's Ice Hockey IIHF Under 20 Division I Group A World Championship 2022

 

Men's Ice Hockey IIHF Under 20 Division I Group B World Championship 2022

 

Men's Ice Hockey IIHF Under 20 Division II Group A World Championship 2022

 

Tournament Format

 

Due extended sanctions of :RUS and :BLR IIHF decided that

No team from last years Division I Group A Tournament has been relegated to this year tournament, while 2 nations from lower division II Group A advanced to this Tournament,

Teams ranked 3rd-to-6th in last year championship will thus stay in this category for this year as well

 

Classical Round-Robin Tournament, Each team will play once against every opponent.

The 1st Ranked Team will qualify to the next year Men´s Under 20 Division I Group A World Championship,

The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Ranked Nations will stay in this category also for the next edition,

The 6th ranked nation will be relegated to the next year Men´s Under 20 Division II Group A World Championship.

      The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.

      I think the points from the test event should be simple to figure out since WC points from 15th on (continuing through the nations cup races) just count down by 1. Why would it be any different? The only thing that would be uncertain is whether Li and Fischnaller get 1 or 0.
