It was a very easy win.  But Trinidad was not that good.  I will wait to judge them until they play Costa Rica tomorrow.  The west coast is great to watch American leagues & sports like MLB, NFL, etc.  It is also great for Asia sports events.  But European sports like the Premier League the matches start bright and early.

The US women win their first match at the Pan Am games against Trinidad 2-0.  The U.S men will play at 3 ET against El Salvador.

I know I am quite disappointed.  I saw ESPN will have coverage from 10 am until 4:30 ET.  But the handball match is at 7.

The Pan American Games begin tomorrow!!  The U.S. women’s handball team takes on Argentina at 7 ET.  An Olympic quota will go to the winner of the tournament.

Team USA finishes day 1 with 1 gold, 2 silver & 1 bronze medal

So the U.S. men win gold in 4x100 freestyle & U.S. women win silver in the 4x100 freestyle.  Solid day for the relay teams!

Swimming heats for the FINA World Championships begin in a few minutes.  Some notable Americans will take to the starting blocks.  Katie Ledecky & Leah Smith will compete in the women’s 400m freestyle.  Caeleb Dressel will be in the men’s 50m Butterfly.  The U.S. will also be in heats for men’s & women’s 4x100m freestyle relay.
