ExpandOkay sure, but does it matter that much? These women seemed so tired, and at least avoided the ultimate embarrassment of losing the championship.
Looking only at this game, defeat is totally unimportant. Mainly that Colombia despite being a decent team, Brazil was totally tired.
But I think after all the recent results, the result of this tournament is not acceptable. The mess that was the beach volleyball in this Olympic cycle, the meager results at the base (which are not that recent), the mess that is our national league, with clubs full of debt.
What I'm trying to say is that our volleyball management is terrible. The players are not to blame, but someone else is.
Brazil is losing 2-0 to Colombia in the South American Women's Championship with our first team.
And I thought that the shame of beach volleyball and men's volleyball were no longer enough. But life teaches that you can always get worse.
What a responsibility! Bernardinho becomes France coach at the best moment of their volleyball and especially since France is hosting the next Olympics.
I think this result doesn't have that much impact, as the team has already won the most important title of the season, but I can imagine the pressure.
Wow, Boskovic is playing practically alone.
Despite the expected defeat, I thought the team was good, considering the last teams we had I think we can expect good things from these players.
What worries me the most, anyway, is the libero and the setter, it is perhaps our main problem in the senior team so Brazil needs new good players in these positions.
I'm surprised at the height of the players. They are very tall, the libero, for example, is 193cm and he is one of the shortest on the team.
And our women's under19 team is also quite tall, I don't know if this is a new trend for Brazil in the future, but it's good considering that the height of the last teams only decreased.
But of course, the important thing is the skills, so let's see how these teams will perform.
Expected result, a silver is already well above expectations.
The whole team played poorly and the USA was fantastic. They deserve the gold for everything they've done in the last five years.
I'm proud of this team.
Hmm
I didn't want Ngapeth to win. Damn, Russia!
ExpandI second that. No bolsominions at the podium makes me happy, but it would be even better if they don't return at all to the team.
The worst thing about having to put up with these players in Brazil is knowing that they are not the best options we have. I feel sorry for the new players who deserved the medal, especially Douglas, who will probably be massacred, as he was in the semifinals.
Well, but anyway, I think this time our veterans won't make "17" with their hands.
Now that this torture is over, please, bye Bruno, Wallace, Maurício Souza, Maurício Borges and especially bye Renan. I have never seen such a bad coach in my life.
I hope that fourth place is enough for our federation to fire him.
And Brazil in the final. Regardless of the result, these girls deserve a lot. What an amazing team.
Too bad for Tandara, but either way I hope justice is done.

Who should predict this before this tournament? And once again Europe without a gold medal in women's volleyball.

Tandara is out of the Games after a doping violation. Not much has been revealed yet, but the test was carried by the brazilian anti-doping agency and just informed to the brazilian olympic committee, which has suspended the athlete who is returning to Brazil.
I think Brazil will be fine without her (she was already replaced in QF) but this could have a big emotional toll on the team.
Wtf
Russia, please win the gold.
ExpandDouglas was right there, but sadly was underused. The fact that Brazil got to SF having Thales as a libero is a miracle (but I agree the coach is the one to blame).
I want a medal purely to boost Brazil on medal table, but we all know they only care about gold.
Not only Douglas, but Isac, Alan and Cachopa too, who are players I like and for me are unfairly on the bench.
The feeling is that in times of difficulty like this the coach has no reaction. It was the same thing at the 2018 world championships.
I find it interesting in technical times as no player listens to him, it's extremely ridiculous.
And about Thales, it's his fault too, because he spent the entire Olympic cycle with a libero to receive the ball (Thales) and another to defend (Maique). Then he arrived at the Olympics with half a libero, pathetic.
Well, you can't win with a ridiculous coach like that. It's sad to know that one day you have a Bernardinho, the next you have a Renan.
And congratulations to Russia, what an amazing team, they deserve the gold.
I almost had a heart attack.
Let's go girls, one more victory only.
ExpandThat's why I would have preferred
instead of
in QF.
I don't accept it, we beat the Russians this entire Olympic cycle to lose now. I'm already getting nervous about this game.

Brazil has to change players, I know our new players are not at the same level as we had in past eras, but these superstars like Bruno, Lucas and others haven't been performing well for a long time. About the coach, I pretend he doesn't exist on the team.
