Well, I think that considering the pressure that the Italian women's team has been under in recent months, this early qualification is important for them (and for Mazzanti). 
And of course, if you don't depend on the ranking you can give your main players a rest.

It has been circulating in Brazilian press a new regulation from World Skate that would limit the age of athletes starting LA28. Basically only athletes that were born after January 1st, 2014, will be able to compete in this Olympic cycle. On 2029 onwards only athletes with 14 yo (born on Jan 1 onwards on that year) will be able to compete on World Skate events. Apparently the document would be released on April 9, but has been leaked (I have not seen the document). Some parts were published on Demetrio Vecchioli's blog, he's a journalist that has been for years and years advocating this minimum age for skateboarding, as you find in gymnastics, etc. -

I think it's Brazil's first really good match this year since the first week of the VNL, even Honorato played well today.
