Volleyball World is a joke. I hope any team wins medals except Turkey and Serbia.

Honorato is the alternate. Brothers Souza are going to Paris, as well as Lukas Bergmann and his sister Julia.
It's so good to see young players on this Brazil team. I have no expectations for this Olympics, but I think we could have an interesting team for Los Angeles. At least we are good enough with opposites and OH, the problem will be in setters, middle blockers and liberos.
Despite all this, I suspect that these young players (Darlan, Adriano and Lukas) were called up because they are extremely popular and will probably generate engagement for the team.
Japan's evolution is so incredible, sometimes men's volleyball is so boring to watch because of the mistakes and few defenses (including Brazil's matches), but Japan's matches are always fun.
If they had decent middle blockers this team would be hard to stop.
I see a lot of people saying that Brazil doesn't have new players, but seriously that our new players are worse than Borges or Lucas? Throughout the championship, Adriano and Bergmann had even better performances than Leal and Lucarelli, but one of them will be cut because he "has no experience" (they aren't friends of the coach). Honorato, who was spectacular last year, is now just a libero (who can't even play). Anyway, congratulations Poland.
Edited by hoversaBRExpandI haven’t watched any of their matches besides the one against (Canada), but judging by their 6-6 record, wouldn’t you say they’re in bad form?
(and we’re only a month out from the Olympics)
Of course like I said earlier, records aren’t always a good indicator of how well a team is playing…
Actually, Brazil is playing quite well today, but maybe that’s because they’ve made a whole of improvements since then.
We rotate our players in every match. I think this team that is playing against Polonia has only played against Cuba and Italy.
And I also think that Poland and Italy have had enough terrible experiences with favoritism to look down on teams like Brazil and the USA.

Brazil?
Edit: OK… maybe you’re right on that
Slovenia are realistic medal contenders IMO (although I’d agree that they’re a tier below, but I don’t think the gap is as big as you), and I think US should be a tier below Slovenia with Muagututia on their team. Germany (who have rested Krick and Grozer a lot) might be an outside chance, but they’ll need a lot of luck.
And as for Canada, we’ll see…

Honestly, with the exception of Poland I don't see any team doing anything special that we can't win.
ExpandYou’re all going to get through to the quarterfinals either way though, because you have

Now, I wouldn’t underestimate them (played really well at the Olympic Qualifiers), but they’re by far the weakest team in the tournament.
As far as
goes, glad we didn’t get
but unfortunately we drew the second toughest teams (from my/Canada’s perspective) in all groups, so not much of an improvement

I would’ve been fine any one of Japan, Brazil, US, Argentina, or Egypt, but instead we get none.
Honestly, Serbia is worse than all the teams you mentioned (except Egypt) and I still think Slovenia will fail, as they don't have a B team and they will probably arrive at the Olympics exhausted.
Considering how well Canada is doing I think your chances are good.

The last three world championship medalists in the same group.
Orro has been very consistent for Italy. The setter has been a problem for them, if she continues this performance it will be difficult to stop them. It's a shame they can't count on Pietrini.

I watched both of Italy’s knockout matches, if they can continue playing this good they’re winning gold at Paris.
It's always hell playing against Japan for us, the last three matches between the teams had also gone to 5, eventually Japan would win.
I'm not happy, but it could be important that we lose now, it would be a lot of pressure for the Olympics if everything went perfectly.
Well, I think that for the coach, matches like this are great so they can correct their own mistakes of calling up players who shouldn't even be there, for example.
I'm curious to see what Bernardinho will do. Lucarelli and Leal have been very inconsistent so far. Our best performances so far from OH have been the two youngest (Adriano and Lukas). Honorato could help us, but Bernardinho is taking him as a libero .
And now Iran defeated Nimir 3-2.
It seems the victory against the USA was the motivation they needed.
Tomorrow the game between and
will be very spicy.
Mainly with Volleyball World itself encouraging rivalry between fans in all posts on social media.
I'm glad Canada came back quickly after the loss to Italy. Despite the exhaustion, beating a team like Japan can be a boost for any team.
I think it's the first time since Rio 2016 that I'm totally confident with our women's team. I don't know if we're going to win a medal here at the VNL or even in Paris, but the team looks much more solid than in recent years.

It looks like this channel will broadcast one free Brazilian Superliga game per round.

I just couldn't find a schedule of which games will be broadcast this season.
Honestly, I never believed in this victory, I'm glad I was wrong.
Congratulations to the team that was fantastic, even Honorato who I criticized the entire championship. Darlan and Lucarelli are spectacular.
However, I still think Renan is a joke.
ExpandI hope Serbia, Brazil and Italy qualify for the Olympics otherwise it would be a disaster.
Serbia is weak unfortunately, I think Cuba or the Netherlands deserve more.
Italy is obviously exhausted and this tournament isn't as important as it should be, but I still expected a little more from them.
