  9. Game over. The top fav won, but it wasn´t so easy as the Swedes probably expected. Kudos to our kids for fighting against Sweden for the semifinals until the very last second But still great tournament guys. We had definitely the toughest possible group and were also a bit unlucky to get Sweden in the QF, but except the first match the guys presented a very sympathetic and attractive play in all matches. Thanks for this awesome adventure during this tournament and especially that win over USA
  10. lol Something unreal just happened in this second frame, we scored in our power play finally ! this was really starting to be a bit humiliating, the only team which not scored in PP during the whole tournament, but finally we managed to score in our 13th power play. Omen ?
  11. I actually watched the whole second half of the match on the Belarussian stream, and it was a crazy up and down game, extremely physically demanding, I guess the guys are dead in their hotel rooms now but this last minute was really something spectacular, 4-3 for BLR, time-out of the Danes and then a last empty net attempt, which ended succesfully by tying the match 33 seconds to go. Everything was ready for the overtime but when anyone expected that, 15 seconds to go came a incredible mistake of the Belarussian goalie. Well done, Denmark, you´re in advantage now and Belarus under pressure before the Thursdays game
  12. What about the Swiss coach saying that his team will be destroyed by the Canadians before the match https://twitter.com/BarSouthNCelly/status/947573250548121600/video/1
  13. Belarus leading against Denmark 4-3 some 33 seconds to go...and the match ended 4-5 for the Danes ! You must love the Juniors hockey but the Belarussian goalie in this 5th goal
  14. I just can´t about this Finland´s Goal song, this is so catchy c´mon everyone ....daa dirlan dirlan daa the part which is played after every Finland´s goal in this tournament is from around 1:00
  15. Indeed. But there still a interesting mainly offensive power with guys like Broc Little and Ryan Stoa. They were very good at the Deutschland Cup. + there a lot of experiences in this team with former NHLers Gionta, Arcobello, Slater, Wisniewski or Sanguinetti. I am really curious to see how far they can go. but once again for these guys this will be the fulfilled dream and probably the tournament of their lives, so if they manage to form a solid group inside they definitely can have a shot, but as you said the medals still should be too high for them
  16. Yes, Russia want this gold. They never won any Olympic title since the collapse of the USSR (last gold is from 1992 in the colors of the so-called Unified team) so this time they have probably the biggest chance to do it even if under the neutral flag, everyone knew it immediately after the NHL forbiddance. This was pretty sure KHL will allow their SKA St. Petersburg "monsters" to play in PyeongChang once the Russians were not entirely banned

  19. First pick is a izzy one, I guess just because it´s the best sport ! Long live to Canada for the best invention in the history of humanity : Ice Hockey !!! For my number 2 Ski Jumping, because I love this sport since my childhood and I´m very sad this fabulous sport is dead in SVK for a long while now for my 3rd place it was a internal battle between Alpine Skiing, Biathlon and Nordic Combined, I chose NC because it's a beautiful and extremely demanding sport that does not deserve to end without a point in any poll but yeah, if I could, I would choose all 15. Winter Sports all the way !

  21. Another prove about the very bad refereeing in the match SVK-DEN. this guy wasn´t even penalized in the match after his liquidating hit, and we didn´t played a power play after this crime. The guy even smiled impatiently in the bench after his attack the guy is ready for some mental institution... anyway the disciplinary panel of the championship yesterday determined that his act(s) was intentional and dangerous. well done even if only 1 game suspension is very weak punishment imo Danish player suspended Mathiasen-Weise to miss one game Danish captain Christian Mathiasen-Weise has been suspended for one game due to an infraction in the last game against Slovakia. With 98 seconds left in regulation time in the teams’ last preliminary-round game, Mathiasen-Wejse checked Slovak player Erik Smolka to the head. Smolka skated around the Danish net trying to get the puck and push it towards the goal when Mathiasen-Wejse hit him to the head with his shoulder. Smolka fell to the ice and had to be helped to the dressing room. Based on the clip and the player’s statement, the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship Disciplinary Panel determined that the player changed his skating direction in the last moment to deliver a check to Smolka, who was in a vulnerable position because the puck was not near him. Instead of letting his opponent pass by, the player lunged toward his head and caught him up high without warning, which is an infraction of IIHF Rule 124 (Checking to the head or neck). Considering the remaining time of the game and the score of 5-1 for Slovakia, the action was both unnecessary and dangerous, and recklessly put the health of the opponent at risk. Therefore Mathias-Weise was assessed a one-game suspension, specifically for Denmark’s upcoming game on 2nd January 2018 in the relegation round against Belarus.
