I believe the commonwealth championships are separate and being held a day before the 2019 Pacific Games/Oceania Championships Combined competition, but I could be wrong.

Yes, Olympic Channel will have a 8 hour livestream featuring the sports of Beach Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby League 9s, and Football. It will begin in about 6-7 hours from now, and can be found in the TV section.

Wow what a ceremony . I’m even more ready for these games now. I’ll post a replay when I find one because it’s well worth a watch.

The cauldron is lit! It was a beautiful ceremony, and in my opinion better than the Universiade and European Games ceremonies. Now for a 20 minute firework show sponsored by the People’s Republic of China

Message about unity against climate change. It is a life and death matter for these countries. Some are at danger of sinking back into the Pacific within the next 20-50 years .

Stunning display as around 500 students hold lit torches around the track. There was an amazing overhead shot.

How religious is Samoa? They have a Methodist priest blessing the games, a choir singing church hymns, and no sports take place on any Sundays during the games. I’m fine with politics and sports going together, but I draw the line at getting religion involved.

I’m pretty sure the entire fricken population of Samoa is walking in the parade of nations.

Wallis and Futuna have also broken into what can only be described as the college rave of hakas. That was also very fun to watch. They are the only country to perform their “war dance” with a smile.

Tokelau have broken into the Cupid Shuffle of hakas. This performance is super entertaining

Somehow these games have managed to find the most knowledgeable commentators. I’ve been impressed with their ability to know the happenings of the Pacific.
