  1. and she won the bronze medal! I think also Toth has a good chance tomorrow...his draw isn't that complicated until the quarterfinals (where he's supposed to face Bekauri). meanwhile continue their great tradition in the W -63kg...after Zolnir, Trstenjak now they won a great Silver medal thanks to Leski. however, Agbegnenou is really on another level, a class of her own
  2. my fault...I took the name from our sport website and in the article they wrote they only used the Lafmejani part of his name... I should have looked at the ISSF result list to take the correct name
  3. Key point, from this world cup stage, the competiton format is coming back to the same as it was until Tokyo 2020, with the 8 finalists shooting 2 series of 5 shots each and then progressive eliminations every 2 shots.
  4. Women's Individual 10m Air Pistol Gold: Anna Korakaki Silver: Olena Kostevych Bronze: Rhythm Sangwan Final Ranking and Results https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/cs
  5. the shooters never stop! here we go with another World Cup stage, this time with Rifle and Pistol specialists in Baku. Men's Individual 10m Air Pistol Gold: Sajad Poorhosseini Silver: Oleh Omelchuk Bronze: Robin Walter Final Ranking and Results https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=17951
  6. also Today, a lot of surprising results among the girls (except for the great Clarisse, of course). more predictable (even if not at 100%) the men's scores.
  7. Day #4, Medal Matches women's -63kg Gold Medal match: Clarisse Agbegnenou vs Andreja Leski Bronze Medal match #1: Szofi Ozbas vs Lubjana Piovesana Bronze Medal match #2: Prisca Awiti Alcaraz vs Joanne Van Lieshout men's -81kg Gold Medal match: Tato Grigalashvili vs Matthias Casse Bronze Medal match #1: Takanori Nagase vs Sagi Muki Bronze Medal match #2: Francois Gauthier Drapeau vs Lee Jun Hwan
  8. to me, the technical gap between the 2 is massive (as it can be, we're still talking of 2 outstanding players). the problem for Deguchi is all about her mental strenght, which is highly questionable.
  9. as if that was the only one...
  10. yeah, but I think that both Pizzolato and Nasar can go over 400 sooner or later, meanwhile I doubt Li has margin, especially in the C&J phase. however, 400kg were good for the medals in the 1988 and 1992 Olympics at 90kg... now we are back to those numbers with more than one lifter. and someone thought that the end of the Ajan's era could bring weightlifting out of the tunnel...
  11. and after 3 days, the IJF decided to allow Discovery+ to show both mats in the prelims. thank you for the first 3 days at half service, however!
  12. Kun Khmer live! just got the Gold Medal in the women's -48kg
  13. imho, there's no problem at all...Deguchi is by far a better Judo player than Klimkait. if I were the Canadian coach, I wouldn't have any doubt and choose Deguchi all the time. on the other side, the Italian curse continues...it's unbelievable, but we've never had a male world champion in Judo and if we haven't got gold Today, we'll never win one. never. gotta be said, Today Lombardo was really, really unlucky, as on his winning throw, he went down on his head just a few hundreds of a second earlier than Stump's shoulder touched the ground and therefore he was (correctly, nothing to say about it...the rule is clear) disqualified for diving instead of being named the new world champion
  14. Day #3 women's -57kg Gold: Christa Deguchi Silver: Haruka Funakubo Bronze: Jessica Klimkait & Enkh Lkhagvatogoo men's -73kg Gold: Nils Stump Silver: Manuel Lombardo Bronze: Soichi Hashimoto & Murodjon Yeldoshev
  15. still, I haven't heard yet of all the people involved in the NOP being sentenced to jail (I mean, from Salazar to the Nike's CEO to all the athletes that trained in Eugene and surroundings)...
  16. let's start the day with some good news... both 2022 World Champions in today's weight classes (women's -57kg: Rafaela Silva; men's -73kg: Tsogbaatar Tsend-Ochir) are already out of the tournament sure that it won't hit anybody's prediction contest...
  17. Day #2 women's -52kg Gold: Uta Abe Silver: Diyora Keldiyorova Bronze: Amandine Buchard & Odette Giuffrida men's -66kg Gold: Hifumi Abe Silver: Joshiro Maruyama Bronze: Walide Khyar & Baskhuu Yondonperenlei
  18. she's been great, but also very lucky in her bout vs Krasniqi. still, I think she's just missed a chance for a silver that most likely she won't have anymore... on the other side, mr. Nutsubidze just killed the men's final with a stupid (if not even biased) decision to give Maruyama a 3rd shido in the golden score when both players were starting to increase the pace and actually trying to do something after they did nothing in regulation. as a neutral fan, I'm really, really disappointed. as someone who knows quite a bit about judo, I'm disgusted.
  19. by the way, Miyamoto improved 7 kg from last year's World Champs...and Wichuma came up up from the -67kg class and added 20kg to his total in a few months... tell me if are trustable or not (given also the results from the past couple of days)?
  20. ehm...I fear you just inverted Snatch and C&J partial results...
  21. what a wasted chance for Giuffrida! she lost by triple shido against Pupp in the quarterfinals...she could have easily gone through to the final and win her 1st world medal after many European's and a double Olympic bronze. but she just couldn't manage the distructive "do nothing and let the opponent kill by herself with multiple shido" tactic by the Hungarian, a true specialist in this non-judo game and the right punishment for such a wasted opportunity, it's a BMM vs the worst opponent she could find with her style of play, the Olympic Champion in the -48kg class from Kosovo, Distria Krasniqi, which means that she will come home with nothing more than a miserable (given the chance) 5th place. in the men's section, no major upset Today... so, we have the most anticipated match of the entire World Championship, a new chapter of the Abe vs Maruyama neverending story. definitely, a not-to-be-missed matchup. and take a good seat...it coud go long, very long (or maybe not, who knows? I just can't wait for it ).
  22. Day #2, Medal Matches women's -52kg Gold Medal match: Uta Abe vs Diyora Keldiyorova Bronze Medal match #1: Reka Pupp vs Amandine Buchard Bronze Medal match #2: Distria Krasniqi vs Odette Giuffrida men's -66kg Gold Medal match: Hifumi Abe vs Joshiro Maruyama Bronze Medal match #1: Vazha Margvelashvili vs Baskhuu Yondonperenlei Bronze Medal match #2: Walide Khyar vs An Baul
  23. before Tokyo they did publish the team and individual Olympic Ranking in a separate mini-site within the main fie.org, but they started only halfway through the OQP. hopefully this time they will start earlier, but so far I can't see anything dedicated to the OQ pathway. in any case, there was a facebook page updating all the rankings weekly and we also used to make our calculations by ourselves. we won't miss a thing, don't worry
  24. by the way, in the early rounds of the women's -52kg, we've seen a rare double disqualification. Kelly Deguchi and Ben Liu were both DQed after more than 8 mins of Golden Score which left Diyora Keldiyorova without opponent in the round of 16, gifting her of a direct quali through the top 8.
  25. last time it was on the Olympic Channel (free)
