Another group, another dramatic conclusion... lacked a total of 2 sets in the whole tournament to qualify for the eightfinals, such a shame, because this previously unknown team proved it's dangerous and able to play on a high level. At the other hand, I'm happy for especially since their fans are amongst the best ones in European volleyball Overall, Group C turned out to be easily the most interesting one.

Very interesting ending of the group phase... Potentially, neither or may advance to the eightfinals, despite having two wins, plus 5 and 6 points respectively. Furthermore, may actually take only 4th spot in Pool D, if beats them today and then wins over .

I feel bad for , they love volleyball and their amazing fans were the highlight of the championships... they are usually much stronger than this They will now most likely end the Euro as the 24th ranked team, the only one that didn't get at least one point in the group stage. Even Austria managed to accomplish this Still, today they played like they don't care... maybe they just wanted this European Championship to end, but really, that's unfair to such a awesome group of fans. I think Gheorghe Cretu will get fired, too, so we'll see what happens to this team. Overall they are easily the biggest disappointment of the competition.

We now know 7 of the 8 teams that will participate in the Asian Qualifying Tournament: Australia China Chinese Taipei India Iran Pakistan South Korea The 8th contender will most likely be revealed on the 20th of September, as the Asian Championships will finish.

Wow, unbevielable... apparently 1 small point decided that it's Greece who qualifies... If Portugal would, for example, lose the 1st set today 22-25 instead od 21-25, THEY would be the ones to play the eightfinals What a crazy, crazy situation.

Big congratulations to ... they knew they already don't have basically any chance of qualifying, but still they played their hearts out and because of it they eliminated Such a dramatic turn of events for all teams, as , and had the same amount of matches won, points,. AND identical set ratio That doesn't happen very often. Congratulations to , which turned out to have the best small point ratio and therefore qualified to the next round.
