  1. I really enjoyed it! I was very critical of their choice to do the ceremony outside of a stadium, and I still think it shouldn't happen again, but it was entertaining and nice to always be in movement. The parade being in the heart of it was a great idea, but it was poorly executed, I just didn't get the same excitement seeing the athletes static on boats, than seeing them walking in a stadium, and hearing the public cheer. Also most flagbearers were barely seen Some parts were too long. They also did a bad job with the cameras and those damn raindrops on them that ruined many shots once it started getting dark (during the "Imagine" part for example - which was sang by TISC participant Juliette Armanet by the way ) Other than that I loved how diverse and inclusive the ceremony was that was so beautiful to see. One of my favorite things about the ceremony for sure. I know many people won't agree but I don't care! Céline Dion at the end was such an incredible and emotional moment, given that she hasn't performed in years since the start of her illness. I'm not a big fan (meaning I enjoy some of her songs but I'm not actively listening to her), but she is such an incredible singer!
  2. As @De_Gambassi said, @Olympian1010 you listen to modern French music way more than I do I don't usually like what French artists make nowadays.
  3. Well I'll be rooting for Spain
  4. I'm here 2 days late but when I saw the results of the French election I was shocked and relieved. It was looking so hopeless but we avoided a catastrophe! (although sadly the far right has gained many seats since the last elections, so they're more powerful than ever)
  5. Why did you have to jinx it?
  6. I wasn't even trying to do some reverse psychology honestly we've always sucked at penalties, so I'm the first shocked to see that we actually won How we are in semifinals is a big mystery though, this Euro has been so boring.
  7. Lol penalty shoot outs, it's over for us
  8. There is still the second round next Sunday so not all hope is lost but I feel more ashamed than ever by my country after these results...
  9. I went to my first "real" concert last Saturday in Lyon, to see Coldplay, it was incredible We had to wait 2 hours in the pouring rain, some parts of the stadium were even flooded twice, but then the rain stopped an hour before the show started and what a show it was! I'd heard only great things about their concerts and now I know it's really as magical and amazing as they say! Now that it's over I just want to go again
  10. No medal for Collet
  11. Congrats Erm and Estonia I'm really happy for Makenson Gletty and finally Mayer is qualified for the Olympics
  12. Tamberi is unstoppable now!
  13. Can I celebrate the French gold and silver medals yet or not this time?
  14. Lol nevermind, that was too good to be true Nice of them to announce it so long after the race ended and she had time to celebrate...
  15. Wooow 4 medals for us tonight
  16. Oooh Heaven (both from Cian Ducrot and Niall Horan) The one by Cian Ducrot has a special place in my heart because my friend and I heard it a lot when we were on the roads of Ireland last summer, so at first we were a bit annoyed by it but then it became our anthem and we started loving it, so it brings back good memories (OK sorry I'm gonna stop now with the boring stuff about my life )
  17. @OlympicIRL a little anecdote about your song, I already knew it before the contest but it was the acoustic version, which I listened to a lot last year. So listening to the original version felt weird at first, but I grew to like it too, although I still prefer the acoustic version
  18. Congrats Italy, and of course New Zealand and Sweden Thank you @Henry_Leon, you were an amazing host! Thank you everyone who voted for our song, I didn't think we'd place that high so this is a great result!
  19. We've been having a good streak of points lately :O I feel like it's coming to an end soon though, I probably jinxed it Thanks Denmark!
