Alright as of now it is 1-0/
Shi Yu Qi just won over Srikanth.
Now we will move on to the next exciting MD 1 match whereby India MD stand a chance to win.
MS 1 won by China.

I'm not so sure about win but yeah it's exciting . If China wins any of the doubles I might well call it an upset. For singles, Srikanth isn't in form. Praneeth has been left out today (good decision due to poor form). Sameer Verma is decent. But Kiran George is the India No 1 having won the trials against fancied rivals.
Yes this is indeed going to be a very exciting match indeed. I will surely be watching it today. It will surely be a rough fought match for today.
-
There is also the exciting Uber Cup quarter finals matches that will be played today.
I predict the results as follows.
Japan to win over India
Korea to win over Denmark
Thailand to win over Indonesia
China to win over Taipei

Today another exciting match upcoming for Thomas Cup. It is very interesting and exciting. The match will determine who will be the winner or runner up of the group. It is the China versus India match to determine the winner for today.
Somehow predicted that India will win over China today.
Somehow believed that all the 3 India MS players should be able to win over China MS players. Even India MD also have the edge to win over China MD today. A very balanced and exciting lineup today.
1 MS1 Shi Yu Qi - KIDAMBI Srikanth 2 MD1 HE Ji Ting ZHOU Hao Dong - Satwiksairaj RANKIREDDY Chirag SHETTY 3 MS2 LU Guang Zu - Sameer VERMA 4 MD2 LIU Cheng WANG Yi Lyu - M.R. ARJUN Dhruv KAPILA 5 MS3 LI Shi Feng - Kiran GEORGE On top of that 8 countries who have qualified to play in the quarter finals will also be playing in the Uber Cup quarter finals matches today.

Only 3 countries have a stronger 2nd singles. Chou Tien-chen has however always been a bit overrated. He's good but struggles against most top singles.
Yes you are right about this.

No matter how in terms of ranking on paper Indonesia players are all higher ranked and of course they hold the edge to win over Taiwan today. However credit must also be given to Taiwan players who played to their level best today and managed to give their higher ranked opponents a tough fight today. Even for MD also Indonesia is very strong because their MD is world rank no 1, 2 and 7. Taiwan sad to say can only depend On Chou Tien Chen their MS 1 and Lee Yang / Wang Chi Lin their MD 1 to win matches. That is why when it comes to team matches like this it will be very difficult to win and proceed to play in the QF because they do not have strong MS 2 and 3. They also do not have strong MD 2.
-
To be very honest Taiwan or Taipei team is also not that strong either. Their MS 1 Chou Tien Chen world ranking is no 4 but then he is old already plus he is without a coach and only with his Physio when he goes out for tournaments. Taiwan MS 2 and 3 world ranking is also very low and not highly ranked. Chi Yu Jen who is playing as their MS 3 world ranking is no 150. That means he is not a good MS player and it will be very difficult for him to win his MS matches. However credit must be given to him for playing so well and give the Indonesia MS 3 player Shesar world ranking no 19 a tough fight before losing in rubber set.

Standings of Thomas Cup - Group A Points Played Won Draw Lost Matches Games Points 1 INDONESIA 3 3 3 0 0 11 - 4 25 - 11 723 - 570 2 THAILAND 1 2 1 0 1 5 - 5 12 - 12 439 - 462 3 CHINESE TAIPEI 1 3 1 0 2 9 - 6 20 - 14 676 - 597 4 ALGERIA 0 2 0 0 2 0 - 10 0 - 20 211 - 420 This is the latest group result for Group A. Therefore confirmed that Indonesia and Thailand already qualified to play in the quarterfinals. Indonesia emerged as the group champion and Thailand is the runner up of the group. Well Taiwan had a chance to qualify to play in the quarter finals. Somehow their MS 2 and 3 world ranking is way too low compared to Indonesia MS 2 and 3 world ranking. Taiwan also made a blunder when they play versus Thailand. They did not put the better player Lu Ching Yao / Yang Po Han to play versus Thailand at that time. They put another weaker MD player Lee Jhe Huei / Yang Po Hsuan and lose.

So if Taiwan won today 3-2 ,they would have qualified ?
Actually this is the group of death. Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia look strong enough to win matches. However only the top 2 in the group can advance to play in the QF. That is why they need to win.
Thailand defeated Taiwan 3-2.
Indonesia defeated Thailand 3-2.
Indonesia defeated Taiwan 3-2.
Yes whoever win the match today is very important.
If Taiwan win the match 3-2 over Indonesia they have a higher chance to qualify.
-
What an exciting match indeed. Now it is 3-2.
MS 1 - Indonesia
MD 1 - Taipei
MS 2 - Indonesia
MD 2 - Taipei
MS 3 - Indonesia
Indonesia is now the overall winner and top the group.
-
What an exciting match indeed. Now it is 2 all.
MS 1 - Indonesia
MD 1 - Taipei
MS 2 - Indonesia
MD 2 - Taipei
Who will win the MS 3 match? So exciting now.
-

Easily? Really? They played a damn close game against the world's no. 94 from Thailand. How the heck would the world's no. 3 be easy?
Neither will the MD2 be. Indonesia should win 3rd singles, but nothing's easy in this match!
You are right. Every point is hard fought as it is. Agreed.
-
So this exciting MS 2 match ended up with Indonesia winning it.
Indonesia is now leading 2-1.
MS 1 - Indonesia
MD 1 - Taipei
MS 2 - Indonesia
MD 2 match I believe Indonesia will be able to win it easily too.
-
It is getting so tensed up now.
MS 1 - Anthony win
MD 1 - Lee / Wang win
So it is tied at 1 all now. Well I think Indonesia should have fielded their rank no 1 MD and rank no 2 MD to play today. Surely the Indonesia MD 1 could have won the MD match easily today.

It could very well come down to the 2nd doubles but can absolutely win the 1st doubles or 2nd singles (though Christie didn't look good against Thailand)
You are right. I also believe that somehow Indonesia will win and prevail today.
-
This MD 1 match is getting so tense up and tight. Both side also wanted to win.
-

But Thailand lost 3-2 against Indonesia. Meaning that if Taiwan wins by 3-2 they'll be all tied in matches won making it all about the number of games (I believe).
And Thailand should certainly win 5-0 (10-0 in games) against Algeria.
Yes that is why this group match is getting so tense up as well. Difficult to determine the winner.
-
It is so tough for Chou Tien Chen. He is no longer a young MS player. He is getting old. On top of that Chou Tien Chen does not have a coach with him when he goes out for any tournaments. All he had with him is just a physio. Tough when there is no one there to guide you and give you tips on how to win matches at the side of the court. I just wonder why Chou Tien Chen wants to choose such a difficult path.
-
The winner of this match is very tense. Taipei or Indonesia must win the matches for today if they want to progress to play in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile I think Thailand is already safely through to the quarterfinals because they won over Taipei 3-2 already/ Thailand I think can also win over Algeria 5-0.
-
Such a tough fought MS between Anthony and Chou Tien Chen. What happened at the point of 20-19 during the first set? Chou could have won it 21-19. Then all of a sudden if became 20 all. Umpire said Chou racket hit the net or what? What an unfortunate turn of event and Anthony went on to win the first set. Chou lose focus a bit and subsequently won the first MS match. Anyway it is a very tough fought match.
Now the MD 1 match will start.

Really miss the days whereby Susi Susanti is still playing and those days whereby Indonesia women team is so strong that they can even win the Uber Cup.

While Susi Susanti is still actively playing for Indonesia many years ago, Indonesia really had a very strong women team and they managed to win the Uber Cup in year 1994 and 1996 with Susi Susanti playing in the team. Sincerely hope Indonesia will be able to find another WS player with the strong ability like Susi Susanti.
-
Really miss the good olden days of Susi Susanti and Alan Budi Kusuma. Well Susi Susanti is the best WS that Indonesia ever had. Gone were the good olden days. Hope to see another WS player from Indonesia with the quality of Susi Susanti.
