  2. I love that it is more straightforward in relation to the number of quotas and does not allow possible problems as it was in Tokyo and Paris.
  3. I love the judo qualification system, for me is the best in all disciplines. It combines a strong circuit, and it allows 100 or so countries to participate in. So, maybe, if UWW does its job properly, it will be a good thing.
  4. I think we will have 2 official ones + 2 small ones (like the ones in Tahiti, for instance)
  5. as we will have two opening ceremonies, plus other 2 "mini ceremonies", i guess it will be possible to please (almost) everyone hahaha
  6. BRAZIL (14 athletes) With bobsleigh team just revealed, Brazil has announced its biggest delegation ever for a Winter Games. 14 athletes + 1 alternate (Gustavo Ferreira) for bobs. https://www.olympics.com/pt/milano-cortina-2026/noticias/brasil-delegacao-recorde-jogos-olimpicos-inverno-milano-cortina-2026 Alpine Skiing (3 Men + 1 Woman) Lucas Pinheiro Braathen Christian Oliveira Soevik Giovanni Ongaro Alice Padilha Bobsleigh (4 Men) Edson Bindilatti Luís Bacca Rafael Souza Davidson de Souza Esqui Cross-Country (1 Man, 2 Women) Manex Silva Eduarda Ribera Bruna Moura Snowboard (2 Men) Pat Burgener Augustinho Teixeira Skeleton (1 Woman) Nicole Silveira
  7. hey everyone, I was hoping to get to know more podcasts about sports and Olympics, specially in some Languages I'm learning now (Norwegian, German and French, maybe Russian this year). In Portuguese we have 2 regular podcasts: PT: Rumo ao Pódio, produced by GE (Globo Esporte), weekly. Spotify page. PT: Jogos Olímpicos, produced by the Portuguese Olympics.com team, bi-weekly. Spotify page. Also worth of note are: PT: SurtoCast, produced by Surto Olímpico only comes out eventually, but has a good archive with interviews. Spotify page.. PT: Duplo Twist Hablado, absolutely the best on Artistic Gymnastics, but only when an event happens basically. Spotify page. Obviously there are more podcasts, several with a focus on tennis and others with relationship between sports and politics. Would be nice if you could also share some of your favorite podcasts in your region-country-language, even if not always about sports, or olympic sports. Cheers!
  8. Not sure how final is that. At least many games are still TBC or between venues.
  9. Gustavo Bala Loka has an "RTS" on his side on the live scoring, does anyone have any idea of what's that? Thanks!!!
  10. Not exactly sports news, but Nicolas Keenan, bi Argentinean hockey player (and bi-Olympian lol) is fiancé to Rob Jetten, expected to be asked to form government in Netherlands in upcoming weeks (or months hahaha) A cool story on who they are and how they met (in Spanish): https://www.lanacion.com.ar/el-mundo/quien-es-nicolas-keenan-el-deportista-argentino-pareja-del-favorito-a-gobernar-holanda-y-como-se-nid30102025/
  11. oh no, Lucas Koo is a bit further than he was at the end of first stage of WT.
  12. Are the tickets expensive? Or maybe Indonesians are not big fans of AG?
  13. I'm curious on how will Diogo perform since he left Flamengo and turned down Pinheiros (two big clubs in Rio and São Paulo), which apparently is not a wise decision, career-wise. I think this will be a good competition to Flavia and. Julia Soares 'have fun' without pressure, and hoping to get medals. Julia Coutinho and Sophia Weisberg are both 15yo and it will be important for them to have the experience, specially the one who will do the AA (if not both).
  14. Coming back to sports discussion, you all want to play some bets on who medal on what? Or have you read any good predictions?
  15. On the fun side: the only two other big countries I saw are also not taking part of this World Championships are North Korea and Iran maybe it was a boycott But seriously: Does anyone know why they are not taking Part? In the last entry list, IRI was even on orange meaning FIG was waiting for their entries...
