  1. Yeah but back up and running now
  2. Did I miss see that or do the on-screen graphics have a ? in the middle of Turkiye?
  3. If it is a drawn round then I think they count the punches/attacks/power - at least that is what I think they do at the Global events.
  4. Looks like there are a few gremlins in the results - Nour actually lost the first round but came back to win the next two to progress. Nour took a pretty nasty punch to the face in the 2nd round and it looked for a while that he was really unsteady on his feet so fair play to him for managing to fight on and take the win.
  5. Trying to watch the athletics and europeangames.tv is redirecting me to BBC iPlayer - only problem is that the BBC has no interest in field events so wont start their coverage for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bit of a car crash 5th round for Seonaid McIntosh in 10m Rifle qualifying. She scored just 102.9 - the 2nd lowest score of the round. Without she was looking pretty solid to qualify to final. Just as well she secured her Olympic spot already
  7. Draw sheets for all the weight divisions are now up on the official site under the official reports tab. European Games 2023 (european-games.org)
  8. With the action getting underway tomorrow, does anyone have a link to the rankings used to determine the seeding in the draws?
  9. 2 failed dives by ? Would struggle to find another competition where that has happened.
  10. Could almost hear every male in the crowd wincing at the BMX Freestyle after the fall of the Croatian there.
  11. It's a bit nuts that these draw sheets don't seem to appear anywhere on the official website yet but I think that this may be missing the draw for +92Kg division
  12. According to the schedule the draw ceremony is due at 14:30 today.
  13. Before Tokyo there was a big push to up the profile of women's football (and women's sport in general) in the UK, so the home nations agreed to allow GBR team to take part. Don't think Wales or Scotland were actively involved - can't remember if any non English players took part. For Paris, as far as I am aware, there's been no public announcement made that an agreement has been reached so it is all a bit in limbo.
  14. The best performing team approach only applies to hockey and that is based on the agreement of the home nations federations. Rugby 7s used to be the same but they've now merged to compete under GBR banner. For football, the Scottish FA in particular is very protective of their independence and have been worried that if they agree to a GBR team then UEFA/FIFA will say that Scotland is ineligible for international tournaments.
  15. Unfortunately I can't see any movement on allowing GB to compete on either the men's or women's side - unless the discussions are taking place in complete secrecy which seems a little unlikely. In contrast, we knew 2 years before Tokyo that the associations had agreed to the women's team competing.
  16. Perhaps being harsh but having watched the first couple of days across a few sports, I'm not really getting the sense that this is a major international sporting event or the pinnacle of sporting achievement. Hopefully it picks up in the next few days, but at the moment it's giving off a lot of school sports day kind of vibes.
  17. Anyone know what the story was with Worthington? The BOA is being pretty poor in their comms for these games but she was included in their tweet just before the competition started.
  18. But equally likely that Okoye ends up barely hitting 60m - great talent but ridiculously inconsistent.
  19. Am I right in thinking the scoring system for synchro swimming has changed? Comparing these scores to the results from last year's Europeans in Rome and they are more than double.
  20. Back in the good old days when the BBC actually cared about sports other than football.
  21. Any predictions on which (if any) Olympic quotas will be secured by Team GB over the next couple of weeks. Only one's I'd say I was confident of was in modern pentathlon - expecting to get one for the guys and one for the women. After that, the women's rugby 7's have the best chance. Not expecting the same from the men (in fact I'm not that confident they will qualify for Paris at all) Would love to see a couple of extra quotas secured in the shooting - Ben Llewellin and Matthew Coward Holley probably have the best shout but tend to be a bit hit and miss (no pun intended) For boxing it would be great to get 4-6 quotas across the men's and women's squads but have no idea if that is realistic or not. In diving, would like to see Grace Reid take the women's 3m springboard quota as I think that is our weakest discipline so better to bag the quotas as early as possible. In archery it is frustrating as hell that we have the top two ranked archers in the world on the women's side but don't seem to be able to put together a truly competitive women's recurve team so not expecting to secure any quotas here.
  22. Czechia v Hungary for a place in the semi finals! Don't think many of us would have picked that as a likely quarterfinal line up when the competition started
  23. There is a Brit listed on the athletes list for karate - Brandon Brian Wilkins
