  1. Time for the first NFL game in Europe this season. Vikings vs Steelers show up in Dublin. Apparently the Irish government counts on some big income @OlympicIRL
  2. Meanwhile there will be no Polish men in the elite road race for the first time since 1968 (when amateur WCh were held in Montevideo ).
  3. Well, Sasak barely played at these Champs and suddenly when he was needed in a bigger role, he looked rusty. This is sometimes a problem with some coaches who barely rotate the squad during a tournament and let's be honest, Poland had a very favorable schedule so we could have given Sasak more playing time in the earlier matches. And yeah, he was voted as VNL best spiker so he should have been ready for the biggest stage. It's not for the first time when the VNL results ring hollow. Even our media talked about it before as how serious the other top nations treat VNL in first place.
  4. It's ridiculous Poland is still so reliant on Bartosz Kurek who turned 37yo last month. What's the point of Nations League where you can test the backups? This is a far cry from Stephane Antiga who famously left Kurek out of the squad due to 'poor form' and we still won gold in 2014.
  5. Dorota Tlałka - the only Polish World Cup winner in alpine skiing passed away at the age of 62. She represented France between 1986-1989.
  6. Asians should dominate this sport (especially among women) going forward. It's really one for the smaller sized people alas it requires a lot of technique (duh) and this is the main problem. But China, Korea & Southeast Asia should take the reigns going forward (well, Indonesia has visible presence in the sport already so they clearly spotted this opportunity).
  7. Aleksandra Mirosław wins gold in 6,03 secs
  8. beat 3-2 in the last R16 match.
  9. Yes, men also land on two feet when they're near the flat part of the run off and most men falls happen as a result of the jump lenght and not due to technique errors. Catching an edge in telemark landing happens less often. Moreover men are capable to lean backwards horizontally in case of a really long jump, for women it's much harder due to a bigger chest area (duh) and we hardly see this happen for them. Overall women's falls aren't so much related to the lenght of the jump like in men's cases. It's been like mid-90s when even top male skiers deliberately landed on two feet (like Christof Dufner for instance). These days basically only Simon Ammann is notorious for frequently faking a telemark on purpose and well, he's in his 40s anyway.
  10. Men's landing technique is much better and there are fewer injuries tbh. The two-footed landing actually causes most of these falls when the skis cross up. There are still way more women who land on both feet, Frida Westman had a terrible landing technique (always points deducted) and sadly she hasn't really recovered from her own knee injury (her results have dropped off massively).
  11. Sadly there has been an increased number of injuries among the female jumpers lately and there's already talk of altering the suits to make them (jumps) safer. All the talk about women doing ski flying more often has also completely evaporated. The increase has more or less happened ever since they started doing more large hill events and I'm afraid that's not the last we've heard of serious injuries for women.
  12. Nothing like former colonial superpowers exploiting their colonial glory days and calling out others over 'unethical' methods. No wonder France is so hated in Africa for instance but Zinedine Zidane's son will represent Algeria from now on (obviously there's another angle in pro sports, one is too weak for the 'stronger' nation in a sport so one chooses the 'lesser' nation).
  13. You could see the discus sit up in the air so it must have caught some extra wind and that was that.
  14. Stahl over 70 meters and cool as ice!
  15. Bronze for Rose
  16. Rain has stopped so we might get some serviceable results yet.
  17. Barely good. He's been annoying for dragging some interviews for way too long. Thankfully Żodzik isn't Swoboda or else this one would last like 15 mins.
  18. Hołub-Kowalik talking crap that if Żodzik didn't fail at 1.88 she'd have a shared gold. No, she wouldn't since Olyslagers cleared 2.00 in her first attempt and Żodzik in her third.
  19. This story is way past its selling date. Plus the 1973 Wembley draw. Remember when John Cleese did a commercial on Polish TV mentioning that
  20. And Rudziński forgot Żodzik has one attempt left. Yeah, he's lost the plot like Babiarz too
  21. Mahuchikh down and out so Topic has a medal too.
  22. We need details!
  23. Tsimanouska went off even earlier than in the semis
