  1. It's not the referee's responsibility to correct the mistake. If a coach messes up, that is his responsibility. Reminds me how Otto Rehhagel mismanaged the 3 non-EU players rule that was in operation in the 90s. Hany Ramzy had to fake an injury to "validate" the substitution. FCK still lost the game 2-3 so Bochum didn't file a protest.
  2. Knowing our luck, we'll draw Portugal in the playoffs We play Hungary tonight, a complete dead rubber, Lewandowski & Glik won't play due to a coach's decision.
  3. We have a derby in SF (Badosa vs Muguruza), Kontaveit will play the winner of Sabalenka vs Sakkari.
  4. Yeah, Sabalenka has won in three sets so Badosa has won the group and Sabalenka plays Sakkari for second place.
  5. Paula Badosa beats Maria Sakkari 7-6(4) 6-4 and could advance to SF with a match in hand if Swiatek beats Sabalenka in three sets later tonight.
  6. Odell Beckham Jr who flamed out at the Browns has joined the Rams. Kroenke's boys are going all-in for that Super Bowl. Cam Newton has signed with the Panthers again but I don't see them improving much this season. They really whiffed on taking a CB instead of QB in the draft since Sam Darnold has been terrible since Week 4.
  7. Brazilian GP sprint starts in 30 minutes. Hamilton was put to the back of the grid after illegal rear wing (DRS flap opened too much). Verstappen was fined 50k euros for touching the Merc rear wing in parc ferme Hamilton will take a 5-place grid penalty for the Grand Prix tomorrow.
  8. Elvira Oeberg is my pick for a real breakthrough this season. Won't be surprised if she wins multiple races this winter. I see the Swiss have finally decided to unleash the Baserga talent among the seniors? I believe the junior hype might have been somewhat premature though?
  9. Thx. So I'll definitely pass on this nonsense.
  10. Yeah, she doesn't appear to be worn down physically yet either.
  11. Matty Cash came in the 63rd minute vs Andorra to make the NT team debut for Poland. We won 4-1 and Andorra had a player send off after 21 seconds Poland is guaranteed a playoff spot with this result.
  12. Will they use the real gaps or just do the mandatory 0.5 cut-off in which case the results will be determined by the lanes again?
  13. Well, she looked alright at 4-2 40-15 and then completely collapsed. She previously lost to indoor speciallist Alexandrova after COVID.
  14. Paula Badosa won ten games in a row and beat Aryna Sabalenka 6-4 6-0!
  15. She turns 33yo in January but given how decimated the Russian team is over the last few years I suppose she still hoped to get a call-up regardless. Btw, her sister was pregnant last season and should make the A-team this time around?
  16. Daria Virolainen is pregnant again and will not compete this season.
  17. The only way FIS is stopped with the parallel races revolution is if the big names flat out ignore it. Hirscher wasn't the best in them but he's retired so let's see if the women actually affect this nonsense now. I didn't watch some of these parallels last season already and after the World Champs fiasco where one course decided the outcome I probably won't bother watching this farce anymore.
  18. Despite all the NASCAR playoff gimmicks the best driver of the season actually won the Cup title. Kyle Larson really deserved that!
  19. Russia wins BJK aka Fed Cup after Daria Kasatkina swept Jil Teichmann and Belinda Bencic mentally collapsed against Liudmila Samsonova. Bencic complained about Samsonova's ball bouncing during the serve but got warned over delays herself
  20. I read the plane hit the high-voltage wires? How low was it flying for that to happen?
  21. It also helps indoor hard is one of her best surfaces
  22. It's all bullshit. Just get rid of this event already. Laser shooting is a joke since like @heywoodupointed out everyone is just shooting a gazillion shots and rely on the probability count to limit the damage. We all know IOC wants e-sports and urban crap. Stop using the "inclusive" nonsense. A sport that has zero following in USA & China is destined to fail in the modern era when NBC calls the schedule. I'd be amazed if MP remains an Olympic sport in Brisbane and of course their axe will be blamed on lack of diversity and all that crap. Calling it 11 years before SOG 2032. Move on!
  23. Regular shooting takes place in the first week of Olympics so I can't see MP getting the early love. What works against this sport as well is two of the biggest SOG powerhouses (USA & China) are both non-factors so there is no political pressure to feature MP in a highlighted spot on the schedule. Running it towards the ends when team sports medal rounds/finals take place puts this firmly in the graveyard of Olympic schedule for sure. Funnily enough the last time MP was held in the first week was 1992 Barcelona where Poland won two gold medals and the dreaded equestrian was the last event of the five (the competition lasted four days, impossible in the current day & age). Back then athletes had a training round available, not the 15 minutes "get to know the horse" we have now but like I've said, the competition wasn't held during a single day so they had time to accomodate the horses.
  24. Stick a fork in this event. They have to make room for e-sports sooner or later anyway
  25. Yup, Americans got the hell out and tried to sell this as "not a failure". What a load of crap indeed. No wonder nobody in the Middle East buys this democracy thing at all. Americans wasted 20 years building democracy in Afghanistan and managed to accomplish absolutely nothing. Ho-Chin Minh is probably laughing in his grave
