  1. So apparently this flag ain't new but just goes back to the traditional version. Again, people just don't notice that because everyone probably realizes it's dark blue (and different to Russian blue or Swedish blue).
  2. Wut? French blue was always darker than EU blue. No wonder nobody noticed.
  3. Neah, that won't happen, Federer is a broken down dinosaur, Nadal is also missing time with injuries and I'm pretty sure ATP will drop all the money for the Next Gen guys (Sinner, Alcaraz, FAA etc.). Any breakaway series only has sense at the height of the given federation's power (darts & American open-wheel in mid 90s for instance). If the tennis breakaway happened it should have been when the Top 4 was at its top (mid 2010s). Now it's too late IMO.
  4. He won't boycott his most successful Grand Slam Btw, we have a new WTA record in broken serves in a single match. World junior #1 Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva beat Maria Lourdes Carle 7-6 5-7 7-5 in a match that lasted 3h 47 minutes and featured 26(!) broken service games in the Montevideo Open 125k. VJK is only 16 years old so you'll probably hear about her in the future anyway.
  5. If Djokovic plays then everyone plays. Hell, even Sabalenka got vaccinated after missing Indian Wells with COVID. This controversy is basically over.
  6. Shohei Ohtani (AL) and Bryce Harper (NL) have been named season MVPs.
  7. Qualifying in Nizny Tagil has started. Fatih Arda Ipcioglu has qualified as the first Turkish ski jumper to the main competition. He's been trying to do this since 2017 and spend majority of last few seasons on the Continental Cup.
  8. It's a diplomatic boycott so completely useless. Who cares about politicans attending OG anyway?
  9. IOC only cares about financial profit from the games. Anyone who thinks otherwise has been asleep for the last 20 years at least.
  10. It's a bluff. WTA can't afford to drop the Chinese money long-term. Players will never agree to paycuts if Chinese money is gone.
  11. Neah, the anti-Chinese backlash was much bigger before Beijing 2008 and things have went rather smoothly for then since then. World has forgotten about Tibet and Hong Kong by now and Peng Shuai isn't really more important than Tibet, is she? This is Realpolitik at its finest indeed.
  12. And it's also an internal Chinese case. Do you really believe any foreign country or organization can tell China what to do with their own citizens? Good luck with that!
  13. Having no access to social media is not disappearance no matter that modern culture is all about social presence these days.
  14. Pretty much so, USA just embarrassed themselves in Afghanistan, EU can't handle the immigrant crisis and became a laughing stock after Brexit so China has a free path to become #1 global powerhouse in 15-20 years. They are #2 powerhouse already. China is far & away the biggest long-term winner of the Cold War, USA might have conquered Soviet Union but they failed to acknowledge China growing way bigger than Soviet Union ever was.
  15. Yeah, I believe Kontaveit will be the favorite vs Muguruza in the final.
  16. Zhou Guanyu will replace Antonio Giovinazzi at Alfa Romeo next season. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/alfa-romeo-confirms-zhou-as-first-chinese-f1-driver/6787419/

  18. Of course they won't cancel any events in China. It's the biggest market for WTA these days since the country is willing to host tournaments and fill WTA's pockets. Same as Middle East tbh.
  19. Sabalenka collapsed after 3-1 in the third set. I don't know if Sakkari will have anything left for Kontaveit though.
  20. Yeah, but Krychowiak commited five fouls and finally got booked in the 61st minute. So he didn't give the ref any choice even though it was intentional. It wasn't like Sergio Ramos timewasting in 95th minute once before which also got him some heat IIRC.
  21. Hungary wins 2-1. Scotland wins 2-0. Our seeding is toast. Turkey should beat Montenegro tomorrow IMO.
  22. Scotland leads Denmark at the half. Our seeding looks in major peril right now. Turkey & Wales play tomorrow.
  23. Hungary scores 1-0 after 37 mins Klich booked and will miss the first playoff Krychowiak did the wise thing and got booked vs Andorra to be suspended for this game.
  24. Poland can be seeded even with a draw vs Hungary since Wales & Scotland would have to beat Belgium & Denmark to begin with so yeah, we will probably be seeded and avoid Portugal in R1. But there's always R2
