  1. Thank you @Ionoutz24 for your new song but as the deadline has passed and the previous son was allowed to compete it cannot be changed! You might be be able to enter this new song in a future contest but this time your song will remain as Hey Mama!
  2. I have just voted and sent my votes to a neutral user. So as planned the voting window will open at midnight tonight!!
  3. Russia top after round robin at the Wheelchair Curling World Championships Russia have come out on top after the round robin stage after winning 8 of their 9 games. Scotland finsihed second with 6 wins and 3 losses with China third with the same scoresheet, but Scotland will progress to the Upper Semifinal because of head-to-head victories. Canada and Norway both finished on 5 wins and 4 losses and will play off for the final place in lower semifinal against China in a tie-breaker tomorrow morning. Also joining them on the ice tomorrow morning will be Germany and Switzerland who find themselves at the other end of the table and in a relegation tie breaker, with the loser moving to the Group B World Championships. The loser will join Finland in the Group B World Championships who have already been relegated after finishing bottom with just 2 wins. The tie-breakers and upper/lower semifinals will take place tomorrow, with the semifinal and medal matches on Saturday. Full Results Here
  4. Song selection window closed late last night and that does mean we have lost Spain since they did not select a song. The host voting window will end on Thursday night so from Friday morning people can start sending their votes in! Just a quick reminder of how the voting works: You need to pick your top 12 songs and award your favourite 12 points, second favourite 11 and so on until 1. You also need to pick 2 reserve songs just in case any countries fail to send their votes and are eliminated. Votes must be sent to me by private message only Here's a template so you can't go wrong: 12 points: 11 points: 10 points: 9 points: 8 points: 7 points: 6 points: 5 points: 4 points: 3 points: 2 points: 1 point: Reserve 1: Reserve 2: The voting deadline is 31st March 2017 Happy voting!
  5. USA and GB on top at the Para Cycling Track World Championships The UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships in Los Angeles finished yesterday and the USA topped the medals table winning 10 golds and 20 medals, closely followed by GB with 8 golds and 16 medals. A total of 13 nations won a medal at the Championships which kicked off the road to Tokyo 2020 for many athletes. The United States sent a strong team that included reigning Paralympic champions Shawn Morelli and Jamie Whitmore, along with 2016 Paralympic medallists Samantha Bosco and Joseph Berenyi, along with rising stars Jennifer Schuble and Christopher Murphy. Close on the United State's heels was the British team, who dominated the Tandem B events for visually impaired athletes, who won 5 of the 6 golds and 12 of the 15 medals available in visually impaired cycling events. The dominance was led by 2016 Paralympic Champion Sophie Thornhill who won every race she was entered in and on the men's side James Ball raised his game to win 2 gold medals and deliver times that would have put him on the podium in 2016. Another successful athlete was Jonathan Gildea who narrowly missed out on Paralympic selection but came back fighting by winning 2 gold medals, again with times that would have won him Paralympic medals in Rio. Other strong performances came from double Paralympic medallist Lauro Cesar Chaman from Brazil who won 3 individual medals and two Canadian riders, Tristen Chernove and Ross Wilson who both won silver medals in Rio. 6. SONG SELECTION DEADLINE EXTENDED BY 24 HOURS The deadline to enter the contest and select an eligible song has been extended until Midnight on the 6th March 2017, this is in order to allow @Jur the Spanish user an opportunity to pick a song since he has been active on the forum. Other nations yet to enter the contest will be allowed to enter during the extended song selection deadline. Once the clock hits midnight tomorrow the entry window will be closed and any country yet to pick a song will be disqualified. I hope this gives everyone who wants to participate in the contest the best opportunity to do so!
  7. I think so! Another 12-24 hours can be given to him so he can pick a song
  8. Wow!! Amazing 4th for Andrew Musgrave!! Our best ever result and only 1.5 seconds outside a medal!! Who would of thought that GB would be in the mix for a cross country skiing medal at the Winter Olympics next year. Incredible!
  9. @intoronto your song choice for Canada is sadly not eligible as it was released in 2015! As Inhave only spotted this late, I am willing to extend the window for an extra 24 hours if you are unable to pick a new song tonight
  10. A little reminder to: @heywoodu@Jur@tuniscof@amen09 that you only have until midnight tomorrow to submit your song!! There are others but they have been active on the thread today so I'm pretty sure they know the deadlines soon!
  11. We are now over my target of 35 countries!! Thank you everyone for getting us to that goal!
  12. I've tried!! Maybe a little shout out here to @NatsutoFuyu might help! However im still hopeful that maybe @lapaj @vovanA @thepharoah @Manulete @panda @Torchbearer Might join before the deadline at midnight tomorrow!
  13. Thank you everyone for the brilliant songs and welcome to the contest Iran and @MHSN! I will update the first page a bit later on! A reminder to all the countries yet to pick (including myself) the deadline is midnight tomorrow!! And regarding the German entry and @OlympicsFan I don't think you are allowed to compete for another nation, but I think in the selection process you must be able to come up with some compromise between you, or each pick a song and conduct a random draw to decide which one is entered?
  14. No British relay team either, I was certain we were going to have a team as we have 4 good athletes in Lahti and it just makes sense to give them another run out!! Maybe there is some sort of cap at a maximum of 16 teams, because it seems odd that there were only 16 teams in both mens and womens?
  15. Welcome to the contest @Wanderer and @justony!! We now have all the continents competing, well apart from Antarctica, but I reckon they might have something to say about that!!
  16. Great result for Finland!! And also for GB as well, 4 athletes in the top 70 is brilliant and our second best ever finish that I can find in 12th place, only beaten by 11th in the Skiathlon a couple of days ago!!
