  1. Just missed. now just needs 126.71 tommorow. Or Elia Stacchini only needs 144.8 I think. Or Matteo Giannini needs 111.22. At least one of them will surely make it.
  2. Add in the mens as well, Troy Chang made it this morning. just missed, both Mini and Stacchini are right on the doorstep.
  3. the next time the FIS updates it's olympic qualification tables there will be some new men's nations: , , and all made the standard. has two male competitors very close as well. It looks to me like those quotas will be taken from and but I am not certain.
  4. Henry Rivers of had a good result today in Dubai. I think good enough to qualify for the olympics but have to wait for FIS points to be posted.
  5. visa or not, Posashkov has done enough already to qualify for the Olympics as a neutral in the 1000m. pretty much guaranteed. Nikolaev may have done enough already in the 1500m. Based on the ISU communication, they wouldn't nominate a skater the results would decide who would go, so Posashkov looks to be Olympic bound. Krylova has probably done enough to book and Olympic spot in the women's 500m, the other two distances look very tight.
  6. very late replying, thank you very much for all the information I really appreciate it.
  7. deadline for refusing quotas has come and gone, will their be any reallocations?
  8. One athlete can compete in multiple distances, where did you read that neutrals would not be allowed to do that?
  9. Sooooo, why did you quote my comment??? Your response has nothing to do with what I said. They are each allotted points but missing from the lists (kind of like IIHF), except in women's 1500m. Something else that I guess we will learn in week 2: Five russians, each only competed in one race, was that by rule? No entrant in the men's 500M but I don't understand why not. Is it a further restriction, or just a coincidence?
  10. pretty strange how the ISU is handling the Russians so far; omitted completely from the ranking lists except Anna Matveeva in the 1500m. At least they eventually put up rankings.
  11. the mixed relay is interesting so far; twelve nations qualify, twelve have 2 men and 2 women in qualifying position.
  12. Yes, very irritating. Last year it was briefly offline and then resumed, this is really frustrating.
  13. https://web.archive.org/web/20211223000052/https://www.isu.org/docman-documents-links-2/2022-beijing/internal-documentation-1/26697-short-track-speed-skating-1/file/ for reference, this is how the qualifying is done.
  14. I don't understand, "they wouldn't" what? Something is going to be added, each NOCs total is not based on any specific individual's ranking, that is not how Olympic Qualification works. Olympic Qualification is based on adding NOC ranking points from the four different races so one score could be from multiple athletes. So will AIN be treated like an NOC is what I am trying to figure out I guess. If two times one AIN athlete raced the 500m and then two times a different AIN athlete raced the 500m, would you take the best three scores like every other country?
  15. According to this: https://isudam.blob.core.windows.net/isudamcontainer/AIN_Q&A_Final_20_12_2024_1734686416256.pdf they can only qualify one male and one female total. So they can only enter one in each race in the World Tour it would follow. So for Olympic Qualification, how would they add the score do you think?
  16. Seregina came 6th in the 500m in 2022 I think, right behind Boutin in the semi. Otherwise no idea.
  17. In the entry lists for the first World Tour event there are five russians; three female and two male. I don't know how the rules are, so is it only going to be one per race? And then for Olympic Qualifying, how will they accumulate ranking points? Athletes don't NOCs do normally, so I am puzzled how that is going to work.
  18. Well so much for "very unlikely", the latest FIS list has him as eligible for the Olympics representing , so one new Winter Olympic nation today I guess.
  19. A few additions to above list: athlete remains ineligible so far, and cannot be confirmed qualified until likely January anyway based on qualification criteria qualified an alpine skiier. has an american competing in freestyle (SS,HP,BA), seems like a long shot but possible has a male alpine skiier who is close to qualifying, however who knows if they will be able to go anyway , , , , , all have reasonable shots to qualify in cross-country skiiing with the modified WC rules for the fall session. athlete switched to but was denied release, so has to sit out for a year to continue competing. It remains possible, but very unlikely Tchibozo will compete in the Olympics for Benin.
  20. last Olympics it was 5, and only 4 were used.
  21. very important information, thank you for catching that. I tried a simulation with World Tour points and you can't qualify enough athletes in each discipline anyway so it i guess you would have to use the ranking points.
  22. Lost a country for sure now. Tchibozo of has decided to switch to but could not get a release from Togo so he has to sit out a year of competition.
  23. first sign of attempting to qualify in any sport I think.
