49 Gold 44 Silver 31 Bronze
Second overall.
Very small number of disappointments, maybe one Games too many for a handful, but otherwise a great two weeks for us.
On Channel four a bit ago Ellie Simmonds was delighted by the swimming performance but Tanni Grey Thompson was not impressed by the Athletics performance - raising concerns about the lack of debutants and future prospects. She sounded pretty down beat.
Edited by Orangehair43Powerlifting is so weird with the Judging being such a big part about also very confusing to the naked eye.
The Road Races are unfair with combined more impaired categories getting no head start etc like the Triathlon’s has.
Edited by Orangehair43I wonder if the USA will suffer in the decades to come as international adoptions are more and more restricted. Sevreal of the USA’s most important Paralympians were international adoptees.
A lot of minor medals for today but Golds are slowing up a bit. Getting Deja vu of the Olympics.
I think think might just miss 100 medals but not by that much. Equestrian is doing ok with three bronzes so if they keep up that they could get 6-7 medals in total which is not too bad, Still it will be quite a drop and raise some concerns. Athletics has been a mess and I’m not sure they will even get to 15 medals.
I wonder what country has lost the most medals because Russia and Belarus are not banned.
Why are so many countries somewhat randomly dominant in one or two disability classes. How does that happen?
The Telegraph sent a push notification for this but didn’t for any GB medals even yesterday with the record breaking day.

2x Defending world champs. Mistake?
Still not showing up as taking part. Would be a major shock if they were not not involved.

I think through it showed why the Olympics opening ceremony changed it up as it does drag by the end.
ExpandWe are 1/4 of the way there after 3 days, and many stonger events come later on
Sorry ts just a bit odd particularly managing to get 4th in a four person race and more than one DNF.
At least tomorrow the team will surely win a gold with Hannah Cockcroft or Kare Adenegan if she has a mishap.

atheltics are struggling.
not having the best Athletics so far.
Would have been a 1,2,3 for had Russians not been banned as they should have been.

competed at Tokyo 2020, but don't appear in the results system for Paris 2024. Faroe Islands is then set to be unrepresented at the Summer Paralympic Games for the first time since 1984.
return after missing Tokyo 2020. Bangladesh last competed at Beijing 2008. Solomon Islands and Vanuatu last competed at London 2012. Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste; Macao, China; Myanmar; Tonga; Trinidad and Tobago last competed at Rio 2016.
Disclaimer: I checked your question on the fly, so there's a chance I missed an NPC for either category.
Sad if the Faroe Islands miss out. They have medalled in the past.
ExpandYes, but my point was that there was some coverage contrary to what had been stated and that it has subsequently improved.
The cameras were provided by Channel 4 themselves and not on the world feed if I remember rightly. So much if not all the rest of the world didn’t get the footage.
ExpandI seem to recall watching some of the road racing at London because it was actually relatively easy for the broadcaster to cover as it all took place on the motor racing circuit at Brands Hatch.
We've subsequently had coverage of the road racing at more recent Games. Certainly in Tokyo where some of the events took place in absolutely torrential rain.
There were some basic cameras but not many.
ExpandThat is what is on TV, and a lot more on their YT Channel.
But usually at the Paralympics coverage is pretty patchy. At London we got all the easy-and-cheap-to-cover track cycling, but literally none of the more expensive road cycling. That's the general rule - indoors and static, lots of coverage, outdoors and mobile.....maybe not.
All they are saying is "more coverage than ever before"....
A lot of the outdoor moving stuff was covered in Tokyo so I suspect it will all be covered now.
