ExpandAlthough the FIS has not yet wanted to cancel competitions, they had already been unofficially looking for a replacement for days, as Östersund revealed to the media. The Swedish biathlon stronghold had been asked by the FIS whether they could take over the World Cup final. This would have saved another flight at the end of the season and could have continued directly with vehicles from Falun to Östersund. The organizer in Östersund gave the FIS a deadline in order to have planning security and enough time for the preparations. However, the FIS let this deadline pass and did not yet give a definite commitment to the Swedes, so that Östersund withdrew its yes to the World Cup final. It has not yet been announced whether the FIS has other organizers up its sleeve.

I think that's pretty risky. Iversen hasn't run a race here yet and the results so far this season have been nothing. In addition, Paal Golberg on the second, who has not really convinced here so far. Russia has to be aggressive and put Bolshunov on two with Niskanen.

At least the first three ladies have been around for a long time and have not been involved in anything so far, so one should be careful with such statements. Stepanova is more likely to be undescribed, although she has already won at junior level. With someone like Loginov it is something else, but not all athletes from Russia are doped.
Then the medals of Pellegrino and Stadlober would also be questionable, they also train in Russia.
ExpandI am really surprised to see that Germany won a medal in women's relay at 5 of the last 6 olympics (2018 being the only exemption). No other nation won more than 3 medals during that period ... (Norway, Sweden and Russia all won 3 medals and Finland won 2)

While in the past it was mostly due to a very strong individual performance, mostly Nystad, today was a fantastic performance of the whole collective. They simply took advantage of the fact that Norway and Sweden are completely out of shape and Finland has set up completely wrong.
Dahlqvist/Sundling has been confirmed for the team sprint, maybe there a second gold
Had Karlsson not collapsed so, Sundling could even have won gold here, her performance was tremendous

The season for Klaebo & Co is probably over. Without most of the Norwegians and Russians, there are sure to be some surprises at the end of the season.
Now that there should be a world cup final, the chances for diggins are not bad.
