Definitely not planning any medals. Lithuania has strong traditions in track cycling, especially in the women's field.

With all of the legends retiring, I'm just glad that we can still be seen and be somewhat competitive from time to time.

After Krupeckaitė's retirement, the women's team sprint team fell apart, so it's good to see that our coach (Simona's husband) decided to form a men's team as we didn't have enough competitive women to field a team on the women's side.

Not to forget the increase of women's team sprint size from two to three riders following the Tokyo Olympics. Such rule change was always going to hurt smaller teams like Lithuania more than anyone else.

The GB male sprinters have been quite successful today but they're really hating the track in their interviews.

Yeah, late overtaking seems next to impossible. Turns take a lot of track and obviously you can't really do anything there (as proven by Rudyk).

250 m should be the bare minimum imo, but after this 200 m experience, I think 333 or 400 m would work best for track cycling. Less crashes, and definitely more nail-biting sprints.

Might be worth noting here that the velodrome at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle (SUI) is 200m.

I haven’t watched any of the track cycling yet, so I don’t how the track in Munich behaves. I just thought it was a factoid worth sharing in this instance.

We just had three massive crashes in the first few laps of an elimination race. Track damaged, race suspended until further notice.

Lambie only started riding track in 2017. He isn't a high-level bunch racer on the track and the only Tokyo 2020 event he'd have been picked for would have been the team pursuit (which the US men did not qualify for).

Well, one would assume he would be very handy for a road time trial. He has raced over 150km on gravel roads.

but if it was the other way with Wild crashing the Japanes would be DSQ immediately.

I am done with that double meter in all sports.

Based on what? Only TTO got DQ'd in the whole cycling program. And that was rightly so because he was riding all over the blue patch like a maniac.

I may be naive, but I'm holding on to a bit of hope that people (other than federation officials or something) aren't so pathetic? :(

Depends how much propaganda was built around China potentially topping the medal table.
