Dutch media today reports that former Olympic and Worldchampion Anna vd Breggen will return in the peloton next season. She ended her career in 2021. She will ride for SD Worx.
Not his type of competition, the profile does not suit him. He’s not a one day specialist, like for instance Van der Poel, but a climber who wins multiple day events, with some stages in the mountains. The Danes have other riders that have much more chance in the road race.
Also, he has been injured after a severe fall.

Especially Annemiek is a good speaker, with a huge talent to express what’s important to her. Like Froome, Vollering seems to have little to say.
She’s a bit like Froome. An excellent rider, with a bland personality. My impression is that she’s not very popular in our country. Unlike for instance both Vos and Van Vleuten. She’s does not seem to have that “gun factor”, which poorly translates as goodwill factor.
I believe Vollering will also start in the time trial.
i’ve often wondered if the Dutch successes in women’s cycling are because of or in spite of all these histrionics.
Edited by Noorderling29ExpandIn theory you could - but if you've only earned 1 quota for road cycling, then you are stuck. But under the terms of the qualification document, any athlete who is entered into another cycling discipline would be eligible to be entered into the road cycling events - so if you had track cyclists qualified, then you could sub one in.
This can be used tactically. In Tokyo, one of our road quotas was used to take an extra man for the team sprint and one of our two Madison riders took part in the road race. He did not finish the race IIRC.
