4.	Type of allocation of quota places:

Quota place/s is/are allocated to the NOC and is/are gender specific. The selection of athletes for any quota place(s) are at the discretion of the NOC subject to the eligibility requirements.

C.	ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY

Compliance with the Olympic Charter and other relevant rules

All athletes must respect and comply with the provisions of the Olympic Charter currently in force, including but not limited to Rule 41 (Nationality of Competitors) and Rule 43 (World Anti-Doping Code and the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of Manipulation of Competitions).

Only those athletes who respect and comply with the Olympic Charter, the World Anti-Doping Code, and the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions, including the conditions of participation estabilisted by the IOC, plus the rules of ISMF, may participate in the Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026.

Age Requirements

To be eligible to participate in the Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, athletes must be born on or before 31 December 2007 in accordance with Article 2.1 of the ISMF Athletes Participation Rules.

Medical Requirements

To be eligible to participate in the Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, all athletes must satisfy the medical requirements in accordance with Article 2.3 of the ISMF Athletes Participation Rules and the ISMF Anti-Doping Rules.

Performance Requirements

To be eligible to participate in the Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, athletes must have achieved either standard A, B or C as below:

A.	Have placed in the top 80.00% of the ranked athletes as published on the official ISMF results at least once (1) in any Sprint or Mixed Relay competition at an ISMF World Cup during the Olympic Qualification period or in the ISMF World Championships 2025.
B.	Have placed in the top 90.00% of the ranked athletes as published on the official ISMF results at least two (2) times in any Sprint or Mixed Relay competition at an ISMF World Cup during the Olympic Qualification period or in the ISMF World Championships 2025.
C.	Have placed in the top 6 of the ranked athletes as published on the official ISMF results at least one (1) in any Sprint or Mixed Relay competition at an ISMF U18 Youth World Cup during the Olympic Qualification period or in the U18 ISMF World Championships 2025.

Event Participation

Athletes eligible to participate in the Sprint event in the Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026 are also eligible for selection to participate in the Mixed Relay event. A Mixed Relay team consists of one (1) man and one (1) woman from the same NOC. A maximum of one (1) team may be selected per NOC.

Athletes eligible to participate in the Mixed Relay event are eligible to participate in the Sprint event.

The two (2) highest ranked teams from the 2025 ISMF Mixed Relay World Championships will be allocated one (1) quota place per gender. Should the Host Nation be ranked among the top two teams the next highest ranked eligible team will be allocated the remaining quota place.

Continental Quota

For continents that do not already have an NOC allocated quota place in D.1 or D.2, one (1) quota place per gender will be allocated to the highest ranked NOC from the respective continent according to the ranking of the Olympic Mixed Relay Ranking List. Quota allocations will only be made to NOCs that have at least one (1) athlete of each gender having met the minimum eligibility standards as outlined in section C. Any Continental Quota allocation(s) from which there is no eligible NOC, will be allocated according to D.4

The Olympic Mixed Relay Ranking List is calculated in accordance with the ISMF Ranking Rules and the ISMF Rules for Olympic Games.

Continents are defined as Africa; Asia; Oceania; Europe; Americas. To be eligible for a Continental Quota, there must be at least one (1) full ISMF member National Federation in the continent before the start of the qualification period.

Olympic Mixed Relay Ranking List

For NOCs that have not already been allocated a quota place qualified in D.1, D.2 or D.3, one (1) quota place per gender will be allocated to NOCs from the top of the Olympic Mixed Relay Ranking List downwards, until the combined from D.1, D.2, D.3 and D.4 reaches a limite of twelve (12) per gender.

The Olympic Mixed Relay Ranking List is calculated in accordance with the ISMF Ranking Rules and the ISMF Rules for Olympic Games.

NOCs may be allocated quotas up to the total number of quota places as defined in section B.-2 according to D.5 to D.6.

ISMF World Championships 2025 - Sprint

The two (2) highest ranked athletes from the 2025 ISMF Sprint World Championships men's event and women's event will obtain one (1) quota place per respective gender for their NOC. Should the two (2) highest ranked athletes be from an NOC, that has already reached the maximum NOC quota allocation (as defined in B.2), the next highest ranked athlete from an eligible NOC will be allocated the remaining quota place for the respective NOC.

If the two highest ranked athletes (per gender) are from the same NOC and that NOC has:

1) not been allocated any quotas in D.1 - D.4 in the respective gender, then they will be allocated both quota places;

2) been allocated one (1) quota place in D.1 - D.4 in the respective gender, then they will be allocated one (1) quota place and the next highest ranked athlete from an eligible NOC will be allocated the remaining quota place for the respective NOC.

Olympic Sprint Ranking List

All remaining quota places will be allocated based on the Olympic Sprint Ranking List until the quota limit per gender is reached. The allocation is made such that when an NOC has been allocated the maximum number of quota places according to B.2, its remaining athletes will no longer be counted, and the next eligible NOC on the Olympic Sprint Ranking List will be allocated a place until all remaining quota places have been allocated.

The Olympic Sprint Ranking List is calculated in accordance with the ISMF Ranking Rules and the ISMF Rules for Olympic Games.

HOST COUNTRY PLACES

The Host Country (CONI) will be allocated one (1) quota place per gender.

The Host Country will automatically qualify one (1) male and one (1) female athletes in the ISMF World Championships 2025 Sprint and Mixed Relay event on the condition that the athletes meet the eligibility requirements described under section C of this document.

E.	CONFIRMATION PROCESS FOR QUOTA PLACES

CONFIRMATION OF QUOTA PLACES

The ISMF will publish the results of the relevant qualification events and Olympic Mixed Relay Ranking List and Olympic Sprint Ranking List within 2 days after the completion of the relevant event(s) on its website (link will be provided when available).

The ISMF will confirm in writing to the NOCs within two (2) weeks after the last day of each event, or ranking, the quota places they have been allocated. The NOCs will then have two (2) weeks (but no less than five (5) working days) to the ISMF if they wish to accept these quota places, as detailed in section G. Qualification Timeline.

CONFIRMATION OF HOST COUNTRY PLACES

The Host Country CONI must confirm in writing to the ISMF by 13 January 2026 the use of its Host Country Places.

F.	REALLOCATION OF UNUSED QUOTA PLACES

REALLOCATION OF UNUSED QUOTA PLACES

If an allocated quota place is not confirmed by the NOC by the confirmation of quota place deadline (13 January 2026), or ir declined by the NOC, the quota place will be reallocated to the next highest ranked eligible NOC that has not already been allocated a quota place (as defined section D), according to their respective athletes' ranking on the Olympic Spring Ranking List. The reallocation of quota places is gender specific.

Should additional unused quota places remain following the maximum reallocation of one (1) quota place in the respective gender to eligible NOCs that were not allocated quota places according to section D, the remaining quota places will be reallocated to the highest ranked eligible NOC that has not reached the maximum NOC quota allocation (as defined in B.2) according to their respective athletes' ranking on the Olympic Sprint Ranking List.

REALLOCATION OF UNUSED HOST COUNTRY PLACES

Unused Host Country Place(s) will be reallocated based on the Olympic Mixed Relay Ranking List to the next highest ranked eligible NOC from the continent of the Host Nation (Europe), that has not already been allocated a quota place from D.2.
