  3. Don't know where else to post this. Scott Russell is retiring after the Paralympics this year.
  4. I'm guessing Pulido passed Mata in the universality standings just recently? The latest universality report still shows Mata at the top but it's missing results from the last 4 days of the qualification period.

He's dropped the freestyle events from his lineup Hubert Kos is focusing on the backstroke events + 100m butterfly. He won't swim the 200m Individual Medley. Nandor Nemeth is just focusing on the 100m freestyle and has opted not to swim the 200m freestyle. David Betlehem is only swimming the 1500m freestyle + open water. He won't swim the 800m freestyle. Kristof Rasovszky had the OQT in the 400, 800 and 1500m freestyle events but is only focusing on the open water event in Paris
  7. The qualification summary isn't quite right. Some of the countries haven't announced their rosters yet and I expect that the majority won't use all their assigned relay quotas so I would expect a few more quotas to open up hopefully. I'll update it when other rosters are announced.
  8. Looks like there will be a Canadian in the Women's 100m Freestyle after all!
  9. There is also the former New Jersey Devils player Travis Zajac
  10. Waiting for official results to show up for the CCCAN Championships and the Bahamas National Championships but otherwise, that's it for OQTs. So below is a rough estimate on # of entries before we take into account universality places. Unfortunately, many events had very few qualifiers especially compared to previous years. The times were set based on faster time between the 14th placed swimmer in the Tokyo Olympic prelims or the qualifying time for the Tokyo Olympics. Unfortunately, those heats were done at night resulting in fast heats and unfortunately, that resulted in very fast qualifying times in some events. Hopefully the heats in Paris aren't as fast and most of the qualifying times can stay the same or not decrease too much. WOMEN'S QUOTAS EVENT MEN'S QUOTAS 25 50m Freestyle 42 14 100m Freestyle 34 22 200m Freestyle 21 20 400m Freestyle 27 11 800m Freestyle 34 14 1500m Freestyle 25 21 100m Backstroke 29 27 200m Backstroke 26 24 100m Breaststroke 19 16 200m Breaststroke 18 24 100m Butterfly 28 14 200m Butterfly 24 23 200m Individual Medley 18 16 400m Individual Medley 16 16 /16 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay 16 /16 16 /16 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay 16 /16 16 /16 4 x 100m Medley Relay 16 /16 4 x 100m Mixed Medley Relay 16 /16 22 /22 10km Marathon Swimming 22 /22
  11. So I guess Brooke Andersen failing to make the US Olympic team is good news for Camryn Rogers chances in Paris.

  14. Terrifying for swimmers from other countries
  15. 0% chance Gammon will be selected. The British team was already chosen a few months ago. For him, this meet was his Olympics. All of the Israelis will be selected though.

  17. US Olympic Trials: Day 9 Finals: Women's 50m Freestyle (OQT: 24.70) 1. Simone Manuel - 24.13 2. Gretchen Walsh - 24.15 3. Abbey Weitzeil - 24.26 4. Torri Huske - 24.33 5. Rylee Erisman - 24.62 6. Erika Connolly - 24.63 7. Catie DeLoof - 24.69 8. Maxine Parker - 24.90 Both Walsh and Huske weren't able to reproduce their swims from last night and that opened the door for Simone Manuel to get 1st place. Happy for her to get an individual event! Walsh was still able to get second. Men's 1500m Freestyle (OQT: 15:00.99) 1. Bobby Finke - 14:40.28 2. David Johnston - 14:52.74 3. Luke Whitlock - 14:53.00 4. Daniel Matheson - 14:59.51 5. Luke Ellis - 15:06.71 6. Charlie Clark - 15:12.60 7. William Mulgrew - 15:17.62 8. Carson Hick - 15:17.92 That's the fastest time ever done on US soil by Finke. With Hafnaoui likely not going to the Olympics, Finke will head to Paris as the favourite. Gutsy swim from David Johnston to hold off a charging Whitlock at the end of the race to make his first Olympic team.
  18. Yes, I would imagine so. Like Josh said, there's no need to taper for an in season meet a month before the Olympics unless you're chasing a qualifying time. So if Kharun isn't tapered, that's absolutely terrifying. Same for MSH who also went 1:56 in the 200 free. Actually Harvey also has the B-standard but she has a time slower than Oleksiak. If I have the time, I'll try to do some math to see how many quotas will be leftover for OCT swimmers and see what Penny's chances are to be entered individually.
  19. Here is the latest Universality Report from World Aquatics. Every NOC is obligated to send the swimmers that earn the most points in an event. So for Slovakia, it looks like the two athletes will be Matej Dusa (Men's 100m Freestyle) and Tamara Potocka (Women's 200m Individual Medley)
  20. 2024 European Championships - Belgrade (SRB) June 17th - June 23rd 2024 Meet Results The following new OQTs were achieved Men's 50m Freestyle Piotr Ludwiczak Shane Ryan Men's 100m Freestyle Kristof Milak Danas Rapsys Velimir Stjepanovic Men's 200m Freestyle Nandor Nemeth Men's 800m Freestyle Krzysztof Chmielewski Zalan Sarkany Men's 200m Backstroke David Gerchik Men's 100m Breaststroke Andrius Sidlauskas Men's 200m Breaststroke Lyubomir Epitropov Men's 100m Butterfly Joshua Gammon Daniel Gracik Men's 200m Individual Medley Ron Polonsky Men's 400m Individual Medley Balazs Hollo Apostolos Papastamos Gabor Zombori Women's 50m Freestyle Theodora Drakou Jana Pavalic Women's 100m Freestyle Barbora Seemanova Women's 200m Freestyle Minna Abraham Anastasia Gorbenko Women's 1500m Freestyle Vivien Jackl Women's 100m Breaststroke Anastasia Gorbenko Women's 200m Breaststroke Kristyna Horska Women's 100m Butterfly Georgia Damasioti Roos Vanotterdijk Women's 200m Individual Medley Lea Polonsky
  21. Her best shot at a medal is in the 400 IM. Bronze looks pretty wide open.
  22. US Olympic Trials: Day 8 Finals: Men's 100m Butterfly (OQT: 51.67) 1. Caeleb Dressel - 50.19 Q 2. Thomas Heilman - 50.80 Q 3. Dare Rose - 50.84 4. Zach Harting - 51.37 5. Aiden Hayes - 51.43 6. Ryan Murphy - 51.46 7. Luke Miller - 51.48 8. Kaii Winkler - 51.51 Safe to say that Dressel is officially back. And Heilman shocks Dare Rose to take the 2nd spot. He'll be absolutely terrifying in a few years. With both Dressel and Heilman doubling up here, Brooks Curry and Matt King are officially on the team. Women's 200m Individual Medley (OQT: 2:11.47) 1. Kate Douglass - 2:06.79 Q 2. Alex Walsh - 2:07.86 Q 3. Isabel Ivey - 2:10.09 4. Beata Nelson - 2:10.38 5. Leah Hayes - 2:11.81 6. Zoe Dixon - 2:12.01 7. Lilla Bognar - 2:12.48 8. Ashley Twichell - 8:32.75 Ledecky didn't seemed pleased with the time after the race. Madden, meanwhile, dropped 7 seconds off her PB to take 2nd. She's been having a great trials.
