  1. well, maybe even 4th... by the way, dream over for Italy...
  2. no, the worse he can do it's 3rd...
  3. @hckosice Tuzinsky on fire! Olympic Quota coming for SVK...
  4. and here we go...Strautmanis has crossed the Border and has become Lithuanian... by the way, we just wrote good words about the graphics and they're going crazy...
  5. I fear we won't get the OQ also this time...
  6. these graphics are 1 million times better than ISSF's...
  7. Tuzinsky and Omelchuk in pole position for the OQ after the first series (I know it's early)...
  8. it's a mix between Judo, Wrestling and other Martial Arts and the scoring criteria are different from all the "original" sports that have been used as an inspiration to build the rules of Sambo (which was invented as a form of training for the Soviet Military Forces in the early Twenties of the 20th Century)...
  9. just because there's this dedicated thread, I'm gonna cross-post it... Men's 10m Air Pistol, Shooters qualified to the Final Artem Chernousov* Juraj Tuzinsky Damir Mikec* Paolo Monna Oleh Omelchuk Pablo Carrera Anton Aristarkhov Lauris Strautmanis * NOT eligible for the Olympic Quota
  10. maybe because it's a National sport in Belarus and the one that would eventually give them the most medals?
  11. looking at today's judo draws... OK, if you want to win medals you have to beat the best in your class, but Italy today have been the most unlucky team in the world...all of our guys have to face world or olympic medallists before even thinking about the pool finals (and the subsequent repechage rounds in case of a loss)...
  12. Men's 10m Air Pistol, Shooters qualified to the Final Artem Chernousov* Juraj Tuzinsky Damir Mikec* Paolo Monna Oleh Omelchuk Pablo Carrera Anton Aristarkhov Lauris Strautmanis * NOT eligible for the Olympic Quota
  13. in general, the participation to this tournament is not the most crowded ever in terms of top athletes (especially the Europeans, since next weekend there are the European Games Karate finals in Minsk, which have 1 men and 1 women's Olympic Quota up for grabs)... but still, in the final rounds I see a lot of big names, so it's not that the quality is that poor...maybe the tournament was lacking a bit in depth, but not in the top stars... for what I see, Gaysinsky was actually a bit lucky with the draw, but Irr and Marino are still quite good fighters (our guy was considered a great talent -world junior medallist, senior european champion at the age of 20, but at the moment he's struggling with too many injuries and can't find his shape of 2017 back)... for sure, if he was in the same pool with Yamanoglu and Ganjzadeh (2 of the very best in the world), he wouldn't be in the gold medal match... unfortunately, Serie A tournaments don't give up that many ranking points... for Italy, it was a very good tournament so far, with 3 athletes in the gold medal matches and 5 fighting for bronze...I hope that later today they can finish the job with full success...
  14. only if DEN win against SRB and 3 teams end up with 6 points, otherwise the direct matchup between GER and AUT would be the tiebreaker...
  15. 3 matches (and the remaining 3 of the same group should be in Baku, if I remember well the pairings of the playing sites)...
  16. yes, I added a "1" in the month digit when I read her date of birth...
  17. 1) because I read 18/11/2005 instead of 18/1/2005... 2) too early to know what kind of swimmers she's going to become...we can only wait and see... p.s. more in general, at that age you're still in time to develop your skills...nobody can be considered hopeless when he/she's so young...obviously, if you work only as a sprinter for all of your best years, then you are hopeless when you try to do anything else...but with proper training at the right time, you can always change your perspective...
  18. if ITA, RUS and FRA qualify as a team (and they all have very good chances), I don't see any problem for Ebert to qualify among the individualists... but I think that GER has really good chances to qualify as a team also in the women's Foil (actually, I think it will be easier in women's Foil than in the men's Sabre because of the poor competition)...
  19. yes, Spain win the group if they win by 3-goal margin against POL (the exact result doesn't matter)*... Italy win the group if they beat Belgium and ESP win by 1 or 2 goal margin against POL Poland win the group if they tie or win the game vs ESP... *if ITA don't beat BEL, ESP only need to win, the score is not important anymore (by the way,ITA are winning 1-0 vs BEL at halftime)...
  20. she's not 14 yet, her birthday is later in the year... and I know this is not an Olympic event...however, yesterday she swam 1.08.7 in the 100m Breastroke... I'm not even expecting her to be a medal contender already next year in the Olympic distance, but just being already this year among the top specialists in the sprint distance is not an ordinary performance (and as I wrote before, it's very rare for an Italian athlete...Pellegrini was the last sub-18 global medal winner for Italy in swimming in 2004, just to make a comparison)...
  21. the winner of group A will play the qualified runner-up team, unless it comes from the same Gr. A (in that case, they will play against the winners of Group C)... the other semifinal will be a consequence of that pairing... therefore Germany could play either the runner-up of group A or the winners of group C (depending on which group qualifies 2 teams), the 1st Gr.A vs 1st Gr.B is the only combination excluded...
  22. Settecolli Meet in Rome all Results from Day 1 and 2 here: http://fin2019.microplustiming.com/NU_2019_06_21-23_Roma_web.php?s=TG9hZENhbGVuZGFyaW8oJzAnKTs=&cat=ASM&page=005&spec=007&bat=001&td=CGR1&hg=&descIT=TWVuIC0gODAwIG0gU3RpbGUgTGliZXJvIC0gU2VyaWU=&descEN=TWVuIC0gODAwbSBGcmVlc3R5bGU=&descFR=TWVuIC0gODAwIG0gTmFnZSBMaWJyZQ==&curCatSel_M_F= too many excellent results to be reported here... but I just like to spend a few words about Benedetta Pilato, 13 years young and winner of the women's 50m Breastroke (30.28), who in the morning heats set a new Italian record and swam the 3rd fastest time of the year in 30.13... this kind of performance are so rare for Italian athletes when they're still so young...
  23. no, it's just "Sambo" (without "wrestling") also in the UWW official documents...
