True, Only Brusic was selected to be on the Olympic team and allowed to attend the Olympics. I only wanted to give Ryan Kuehn some recognition for his Olympic qualification based on his race record, since everyone assumes he didn't qualify just because he isn't in the Olympics. Canada/(Ryan's coach) didn't select Ryan to be on the Olympic team, even though he was qualified based on his Jan 2026 world ranking. For most countries qualification means you are selected to the Olympic team; not true for Canada skeleton 2026. Maybe this Men only chart is clearer. It shows Canada ranked 34th and with 2 sleds qualified. The ranking is the lowest ranked qualifier of the 2 men, or 3 men for Germany and China. men Sleds qualified Countries Athletes total Nation 3 2 6 Germany (10th) China (14th) 2 6 12 Great Britain (3rd) Italy (12th) South Korea (16th) Austria (29th) Canada (34th) United States (35th) 1 7 7 Ukraine (11th) Denmark (15th) France (17th) Australia (25th) Latvia (26th) Switzerland (32nd) Israel (36th) 25 15 25

Per this chart only 1 Canadian man qualified for skeleton. I would like to point out that 2 men qualified for skeleton based on their IBSF over all ranking. Both of their points were obtained from North America and Asian cup races. Initially both were denied a spot on the Olympic team. After a protest Josip Brusic was selected for the Olympic team. Ryan Kuehn’s spot was given to Japan.
