In Tokyo the team won 24 medals and 9 golds, and I feel they on track for a similar result. I count 5 almost guaranteed gold medals, with countless other strong gold contenders. Given the selection policy really only allows medal contending athletes to compete, all competitors have strong chances to return home with silverware. The women's T34 100m is the greatest chance of a GB 1-2-3, which happened at the 2023 worlds. Overall, 12 events have athletes who have either won a global title in the last paralympic cycle or are currently ranked world number 1.

    My prediction - 10 golds, 30 medals

As much as it’d be nice I would rather we continue the Jack of all trades approach just in case disaster happened in that one sport.

I’ll be more than happy to get in on the para discussions. Couldn’t justify booking it off work as already had the whole of the Olympics off but I’ll be watching on my days off!

    1) Alex Yee - My favourite Team GB gold of the games. Thinking he was out of it, them cutting away from the action and then as soon as they cut back he was right behind Wilde. Amazing.

    2) Toby Roberts - I love anytime we get gold in a new sport, shows we are a jack of all trades team and don’t just rely on one or two sports to soak up all the medals. *coughjudoandwrestlingcough*

    3) Andy Murray, enough said. I got a new found respect for Dan Evans these games.

I’d maybe not worry about funding as much as you do.

We could finish as low as 10th on golds for sure, if everything goes sideways.

Does it really matter? Only if we let it matter.

If we were in 10th with 30 medals, sure it would need a *very* thorough investigation.

But being 10th with around 60 medals shows a system that basically works but just didn't have the results on the day. That's sport.

If nothing else changes in terms of funding, I would be more confident that our performance would be repeatable than some other countries.

By tomorrow some of the predictions will probably decree GBR will be lucky to finish in the top 10

Yeah Japan just got a breaking gold and about to grab a wrestling gold as well so go two golds ahead on the table and still have a lot of wrestling chances to come.

Don’t tell a certain somebody but I think we will come 6th on the table.

Choong despite the bad fencing round yesterday makes the final! 8th place. So close for Brown finishing in 10th

Sport climbing will definitely have exceeded. Especially if Toby matches his 2nd place qualification with a silver medal. 3 finalists is huge.

McIntosh having what can only be described as a disaster in the standing. She's going to miss the final by 1 place.
