it was all expected, tbh fencing has now become a truly global sport if there's a sport that deserves to increase its olympic quota places (both in the team and individual events), that's fencing ioc can't ignore the elephant in the room -

Overall, all of Old Europe is poorly here: France - 0 medals, Germany - 0 medals, Italy - 1 bronze, Hungary - 1 bronze. For many years the fencing authorities' policy has been to give greater support to Asia and other new emergent countries: Africa, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Georgia, etc., and perhaps that's where Europe's crisis? Additionally Russia has returned and is immediately very strong. -

How are they going to decide who the 18 teams are for next year's championship? I see world 'C' events on the calendar already so some decisions have probably already been made. -
qualified to both of Today's Gold Medal games and beat in both tournaments in their way through to the final the disappointing campaign of the young sabre continues (even if the boys are now playing for bronze against )
