Oh, a medal for Andorra! Amazing!

Could it be the nation's first-ever medal at the World Championships of an Olympic sport of any kind?

since we speak of age groups, Joan Verdu won the bronze medal at the last youth Olympics (men's Giant Slalom), before having a great breakout at the "real" Olympics in Beijing last February (unfortunately, just outside the medals)...

hopefully both Verdu and Villarubla would eventually get a medal also among the seniors, sooner or later...

for what concerns Italy, some disappointing results among the men, but 2 great gold medals in the women's divisions (Elena Borghi's in the U23 C1 is surely the most important in perspective, as she's already an established paddler at senior level)...

p.s. Ivrea's course is still one of the best in the world, technically and in terms of landscape (unfortunately tv/streaming pictures in this occasion didn't make it justice)...
