Great Britain remain dominant in the velodrome!! All 4 Brits in action today qualified for their gold medal individual pursuit races, so 4 medals for sure and one gold at leats as the C5 Pursuit is an all British final. Plus, in the Women's C3 and Men's Tandom B GB are fastest qualifiers with world records!!!
Men's Shot Put F12

Silver: Saman Pakbaz
Bronze: Roman Danyliuk

Rules are rules, I guess, but that's a harsh way of being disqualified.
The result has been made official on the website - but challenges may be allowed after that

The commentator said right away that was something "strange" because apparently the athletes changed guides but I don't know the rules. Maybe @uk12points knows something about this?
Anyway, one of the kenyans was disqualified because the athlete did not finish the race ahead of the guide but the podium didn't change.
I don't know anything about this sadly. I know they are really strict about what time you arrive at the call room and at the world champs last year many athletes were disqualified for call room infringements
1st event:
Men's 5000m T11
Gold
Silver
Bronze
By the way - if anyone is interested in following the results then the IPC website is the best place for that, they have information about all the athletes and countries and it is much better than the official paralympic site!
If anyone can access Channel 4 website (the UK Paralympic TV broadcaster) their results service is as good as the IPC website as well.
A range of livestreams can be accessed on the IPC website, but they are geoblocked in some countries!
First sporting event is set to get underway any second with the Women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 qualification, however unlike the Olympics Shooting will not be the first sport to award a gold medal, instead the first gold medal will be won on the track with the Men's 5000m T11. This will most likely be a showdown between Brazil and Chile, so a South American nation is highly likely to win the first paralympic gold medal ever to be won on South American soil!
ExpandChina for sure will top the medal table, right?
Yes, the real question is by how many, they won 95 gold medals in London compared to Russia's 36. It is unlikely to be that high this time as GB, USA, Brazil and Ukraine will all be stronger this time round with the Russian absence.
ExpandI hope this "puzzle" works perfectly at the end
I also hope it's not the same as a normal puzzle, where you are always missing one piece at the end!!
The IPC have majorly upped their game in the last 24 hours. On their website you can now get full entry lists for every single event at the 2016 Paralympics, coupled with individual nations team sizes and the complete schedule (start lists yet to be added).
ExpandIs there anywhere where I can see Entry List or something?
For some sports like Rowing, Triathlon, Table Tennis and Wheelchair Tennis indidivual federations have posted entry lists, but the IPC is officially useless at entry lists - plus everything has been mucked up because of the Russian ban so over 280 reallocations have been completed!
ExpandWill there be any way to watch the games outside from TV broadcast ( we have only 3 hours per night , and knowing our public television the commentaries will be terrible) ?
yes, IPC will stream lots of live sport on Dailymotion
Channel 4 Paralympic Games trailer:
Sad to hear that only 12% of tickets have been sold for the 2016 Paralympics, hopefully sales will pick up in the coming days but with the financical concerns and potentially empty stadiums the Paralympic games may struggle.
However, Brazil are very strong at Paralympic sport - the widespread success of Brazilian para-athletes should create a good atmosphere and a strong Brazilian performance could help to save the games
Boccia entry lists available here: http://www.bisfed.com/rio-2016-entry-lists/
Quota changes:
1 invitational quota was awarded to Norway in BC1
Hungary rejected their BC4 Pairs quota, this was reallocated to
Portugal.
