NBC is shutting down NBC Sports Network at the end of the year . All of their sporting events will likely head to Peacock. I think we will see more and more sports heading to streaming services in the near future.
NBC Olympics has updated their “sports” tab. It gives good descriptions of competition format for pretty much every event.
ExpandI feel bad for all our veterans with PTSD tonight. People are going apeshit with fireworks where I live.
Luckily they have stopped here because I am about to go to bed.
Happy Indpendence Day to my American friends.
ExpandLet’s face it, Detroit is just Southern Canada
You’re right. All of Michigan is basically Canada 2.0.
Happy Canada Day to our friendly neighbors up north
ExpandCalifornia CC calendar is bit a different from the university calendar. We started this semester on February 2nd (which was great in terms of enjoying the YOG).
I don’t know a lot about those schools, but you should consider California
(I’m assuming Oakland U is in Michigan because I haven’t heard of it).
Yes Oakland U is in Michigan. About 15 minutes from where I live. As much as I would want to go to school in California, it is too damn expensive.
Anyway, I am heading off to bed, good night and stay safe!
ExpandUnfortunately, I’m not “out” school. Remember I attend a CC. I still get graded on all assignments. Participation and attendance is mandatory in all online lectures (which every class has). Office hours are offered on top of that through Zoom. Our digital platform is Canvas, and I’m not familiar with Schoology. We have exams in Canvas and through a specialty app. It’s hell. It’s hard to keep up on work. It’s too much for many students, and the college has handled Covid-19 just about as well as Trump if I’m being honest.
My life will be this constant hell hole until May 29th.
On a sidenote, what colleges/universities are you considering applying for?
Well good luck. Your classes are done on May 29th? Is that late or normal for Cali. Michigan unis get out at the end of April.
I am am going to start applying this summer to Michigan State, Central Michigan & Oakland University. Maybe more, but I am pretty sure I will get in to one of those schools.
Also I would stay up if it was the actual Olympics and not a replay.
ExpandI guess you’ll stay up and watch it like the true Totallympian you are dammit!
By the way, what’s online school looking like for you?
For the rest of the year grades are based on participation & completing the assignments that teachers give out. The students have to stay up to date using zoom, email, etc. Each teacher has office hours (through zoom) once a week if students have questions. We turn in assignments through a platform called schoology (not sure if you are familiar with it or not). We don’t know how exams will work though.
How long are you out of school for?
ExpandWomen’s road race is worth a watch. Features one of the most memorable crashes in history, not to mention an outstanding finish.
That’s not on until 1 am here on the east coast
I will definitely record it and watch tomorrow.
Return to rio is on NBC sports network rn if any of my American friends are interested. Women’s team gymnastics final is on now, with women’s all around on later tonight. Also, Women’s road race and time trial tonight.

Sounds like NBC will be showing Olympic replays starting this Monday in prime time.
Here is Team USA’s softball schedule for Tokyo 2020!! (All times est)
vs 7/21 11:00pm
vs 7/22 8:00pm
vs 7/25 1:30am
vs 7/25 9:00pm
vs 7/26 9:00pm
The U.S. tv market had a big influence on scheduling of the games. 4 out of 5 are in prime time. The game against Japan is a rematch from the Beijing 2008 final.
35 year old Mariel Zagunis has qualified for her 5th games!
This would be interesting if she qualifies.

Rupp, Jake Riley & Abdi Abdirahman are headed to Tokyo 2020. This will be Riley’s first olympic team. Abdirahman will be on his fifth Olympic team. Rupp has made his fourth Olympic team. Congrats to these men!! Hopefully they can bring home medals in Sapporo
Unsurprisingly, Galen Rupp wins the Men’s marathon.
U.S. marathon trials are in just over an hour.!!
Happy 40th anniversary to one of the greatest sporting moments in American history! I have one question for everyone: DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?
