According to Dutch TV she’s concious and communicating
Wouldn’t she have qualified as the second fastest loser, even if there were no dq’s?
Edited by Noorderling29Van Diepen was so useless that he was the 2nd fastest of the third round athletes.
ExpandFemke Bol carried the
mixed relay to predictable gold. Van Diepen was particulary useless dropping to 4th place but Bol immediately moved to 2nd place within the first few steps taking advantage of
slow last exchange (Nielsen had to look back for the baton twice).
Van Diepen was so useless that he ran the 2nd fastest time.
Edited by Noorderling29Remarkable interview with Sifan Hassan on Eurosport NL who was unaware she had been promoted to silver, then Kipcheoge turns up unaware that she had been dq’d.
Saw a tweet by Dutch national coach Laurent Meuwly that the Dutch male 4 x 100 metres relay are qualified for Paris.
ExpandWell, no surprise with this bad weather. So this awful week for Dutch sports continues. No Olympic quota for us, because they won't run another race. Not qualified, however they run the exact same time as TTO, but on a later moment. Still very confused about that rule.
Are you sure? According to @Topatletieklive, the Dutch team are currently in 16th place, thousands ahead of number 17.
Agree with Haywood’s.Klaver has not had a good race in the outdoor season. But was our best runner at the Indoor Worlds in Glasgow. Bol has learned from the mixed Relay in Budapest to not go out to fast when it’s not necessary.
Edited by Noorderling29ExpandFemke Bol tried her best to make the race exciting but then switched from easy jogging to running in the last 12 meters or so

Strange that De Witte, on paper our slowest runner, ran the fastest of the 4. Both Peeters and De Witte (in the heats) faster than in Budapest, Bol and Klaver (who ran in 2nd ) slower.
ExpandDutch protest. Wait and see. No Dutch team in the final means that it’s certain our 4 x 4 will not be able to defend in Paris its silver medal from 2021.
Protest denied, so no Dutch male 4 x 4 in Paris.
Flemish Belgian TV also broadcasts the morning sessions. Nearly uninterrupted coverage, with a few breaks for interviews, but no lengthy analysis (ahum Gregory Sedoc ahum) or advertising breaks, with good quality commentary
Thiam managing to calm the nerves of the Belgian TV commentators.
FWIW, He’s never tested positive.
ExpandAccording to English comms, Emanuelson is the first-ever
European Men’s Discus finalist!
And a bad day for Martynas Alekna.

Fake news: Cees Koch (1962), Erik De Bruin (1990) and Rutger Smith (2012)won medals, and De Bruin and Smith both finished in the top 8 once more.
The time was apparently close to her season’s best. But the race looked labored.
KJT also unimpressive, last in her heat, 13:66
The website seems to be working (for) now
Thiam unimpressive in the hurdles: 13;74, about half a second above her personal record.
she had trouble keeping her rhythm.
The only sport were trials make sense for us is Speedskating. They are usually held between Christmas and New Year, and are assured a significant TV audience.
We have our Nat Champs before major championships, but they are most certainly not trials.
